Finally got back to the painting table last night. Did some good work on a couple dozen Soviet trucks for my artillery batteries, and did some prep work on some tanks, cleaning up the models. I've decided to expand and upgrade my collection so I'm going back to pinning the turrets instead of gluing in place to allow me to do some 6mm skirmish gaming with them as well.

Extra Crispy,

When you refer to "pinning" turrets, what do you mean? I was considering small thumbtacks or something to help keep them on. I don't mind glue for cupolas, but prefer the that the main turret traverse.

I drill a hole in the underside of the turret, right through the post that fits in the hole in the hull. Then I cut a map pin down to the needed size and glue in place. A small drop of super glue and press down hard so the pin sticks into the metal. Let dry. You may need to give the turret a hard twist just in case any glue got on the hull. You can get a pack of map pins at Staples. 200 pins for $5-6.

Not so much working on as sitting in the sun drinking beer.
Long range air defence radar.
One spray can, two Man trucks, two cans of beer.

Even less progress on this one, may need more beer.

Car ferry "Spirit of Goatland".
Was a $18 kit sale I picked up. A 1/350 scale liner cut down and modded a little to take tourist and light armour around Balzac.

Just enough room for an NH90 on the rear deck, for SAR etc.

Cama,
Yes sir PM hobby a little while ago.
Not much on sale that I could use but they did have two 1-285 Burton Islands (ice breaker)
and one was marked CAN$16.99. Please don`t buy another sub, last time you cost me a fortune

Chris,
It is not a Fabulous transport assault support ship.
It is a peaceful civilian car ferry for the benefit of the Summer holiday makers and to assist the commercial delivery of Goat cheese back to the mainland. The ramp must be able to take over 60 tons.
I guess at a push it could be used for Landrovers, Leo`s etc. Thats just a coincidence.

Next you`ll think I`m building some kind of stealthy aircraft carrier

My little Sringbank airport will be getting a make over, was only 4 sq ft.
Will add a couple of 1'x1' foam squares and green it up a bit to look more Northern.

Image

Making the ramp area more user friendly for the expected increase in holiday makers, C130's etc.

Image

Also going to work on a little scenic village with a bridge over a river.
Wow that is flat country there.

Image

The pink area will taper down to the river to make it easier for the village folk to launch and recover their small boats etc.

Image

Mmmmm need some European buildings, houses, light industry, bratty stands, beer hall etc.

Nice country out that way, I used to fly in and out of springbank a lot many years ago.

Springbank and Fulda will be 2'x4'. Nice and small just in case they are ever taken over.

Not that it's going to happen

Working on Tank Destroyers for my I-magine-Nation: the Commonwealth.
Received some equipment and vehicles, need to have them inspected and then maintenance completed. T-72, AMX30, AMX10P, BMP-2, Hummers, Boxers, Luchs, Jaguars, Itilis,Russian truck (2 -7 ton), T-64,VAB, T-55, BRDM 2, BMD, Scorpin, DAF trucks, M109, Unimog 2 ton trucks, Challangers 2, Warriors AIFV, ZSU-57-2, ZSU-23-4, BRDM- AT, T-55, OH-1, M-35, Tornados, Mig 23s, Mi-8, SAU-152, SAU-122, M1A1, M2 Bradleys, MH-60, UH-60, Lynx, V-22, Harriers, AH-64, Mi-24A, Leopard 2, Leopard 2A6, SA-8, YPR-765, LeClerc, Marder AIFV, Gerpards, Rolands, AS-90, Pzrhbtz2000, Gazelle, AH Tiger, Tigr AFV, etc. This and more bring re-worked in the Depots located on the Belearic Islands east of Spain (in my Imagination- a few more and larger....).
.
May send some AMX-30, AMX-10P and recon to Moroccodom and the Challenger 2 and Warriors to Tunisadom in a tan/desert camo. The AH64 A to Moroccodom and the Hinds (6-8) and Gazelles helos to Tunisadom. The purpose is to look for, track, hunt and eliminate the terrorist entering from Libya.
.
On a secret note, we may enter Algeria to help and so they may enter the Commonwealth. We do it for control, for economics, and to help educate those people. The citizens of Moroccodom and Tunisadom have fared far better than Algeria. 34,000,000 people. Many in their government have asked to join the Commonwealth. We would want a resolution by their Parliament and their administration.
.
Have some Patria AMV surrogates being accumulated for shipping to D.C. or is it D.F.D.C. (David).

Now I'm Working On ........

Post by pmskaar »

I just sent off a batch of 6 models for the catalog a couple of weeks ago. The Katori is on the GHQ Facebook Page and the other items are in the online catalog.

Now I am painting for myself. I have decided, I need to start finishing up my various multiple projects and start adding to my finished items and decrease my started items that have been languishing for some time.

Right now I am working on some Panzer IIIs. These will be for my 1943 German Army for the Kursk time frame and are a mixture of Panzer III L, M, and N. Some have sideskirts and others do not. I have about 20+ of these with 5 needing the decals and the finishing touches and applying the camo to several others.

Other things I will be getting to later are some Tiger Is and Panzer IIINs for Tunisia. I have already done some detail work but much remains before they are completed.

I have a lot of other stuff going on as well but my goal is to get more stuff done.

I will be doing some aircraft for the catalog shortly.

Cama,
Have a great trip. Sounds like a well planed route.
If you take the Northern Line tube to the IMP war museum ask them about the deep shelters along the line.

As you walk Normandy remember, keep your cheese soft and your wine red.
Take in the land and ponder this map.

Image

Then decide how close to the coast you want to be.
Have a good one.
