Foxbat, I use white pumice for my infantry bases. I just smear some on a penny and then stick the individual infantry dudes right down into it. Easy peasy.

I am very pleased to announce that E Troop is done! Callsign Eagle. Nothing out of the ordinary here - it is identical to Arapaho, Bobcat, and Coyote Troops. 28 tracks, 6 wheels, 3 trailers, and 12 dismount teams. Everything is GHQ except the maintenance APC and the HMMWVs are CinC, and the trailers are printed.

Troop SINCGARS frequencies are 52.275 to 52.400. Troop is currently ADCON to 1st Squadron until 2nd Squadron HQ comes online.

The regiment is now at 23% strength.

Yeah, I went ADCON since they are in garrison and it's only effective until I can get a small HQ set up for 2nd Squadron. Give me a couple days, I just need a pair of Bradleys, a few HMMWVs and maybe an M577 for the TAC. The full HHT will be the last thing I complete for 2nd Squadron.

Jawohl! Orphan companies are attached to other battalions, a brigade headquarters, or to the corps holding group until I can finish the battalion. They are subject to on-order replacement, reinforcement, or special missions.

I do my best to get some kind of HQ for every battalion and brigade. Soon the ACR will have 2 squadron HQs, so that means I will have to get the regiment HQ set up!

As a funny side note, I keep wanting to say "Regimental". As in Regimental Commander or Regimental HHT. I don't think that is correct English though. I believe it should be "Regiment HHT", though I am not positive. Can anyone confirm the correct English in this case? It's really bugging me for some reason!

As I have heard it, either could be correct, although most commonly, I have heard and seen "the regimental headquarters" and "get that up to regiment.". In the army of my time, I only ever encountered the armored cavalry regiments in USAREUR, the 11th in my unit's AO, and 2nd's on REFORGER while an evaluator. If I were to say " regiment headquarters," it would more likely be the possessive - "the regiments headquarters.". But that Army is so long gone, I don't know. In my day, other than the ACRs, the regiment was a ceremonial mention for purposes of lineage. It WAS preferable to the mere independent tank battalion numbers of WWII. I was always proud of the lineage of 32nd Armored Regiment's long association with Third Armored Division, established with the formation of the division, not severed until the reorganization in the early '90s, when the Army went stupid with that stuff.

I've always read "regimental" in WW2 history books, as in Regimental Combat Team, so I guess you are correct for all periods. Now, HHT, I can't figure that one .
Nice work too with the added forces, I really like your way to do 3 tones camo scheme.

Thank you for the feedback, fellas! I will stop worrying about it and just use both. But now I have to make sure I am consistent with my documentation. If my spreadsheets say Regiment in one place and Regimental in another it will drive me nuts! LOL

"Regiment" vs "regimental." As in many things, context is key and is modified by long evolution and custom. "Sir, you'll have to clear that with Regiment.". " You have to get permission from regimental headquarters." Is it an adjective? -regimental. A title? - regiment. Jeez, it just gets more confusing, since we say "company headquarters" and "battalion headquarters,' then go to regimentAL headquarters and divisionAL headquarters, but then, we boot it up to "Division," which is really "Division headquarters.". But we are talking a specific division headquarters, rather than just ANY division headquarters, or rather divisionAL headquarters. Would someone please call the English teacher's M88 to extract me from this morass?
