Fantastic detail
Gentlemen,
Fantastic detail. I have a question on the aircraft carrier, would it actually have cables up front? I know they had the netting on the side so was not sure if that was the cable for the netting or if they really had cables to help direct the pilots in.

That sounds great, looking forward to see more naval forces here! Thank you.BurtWolf wrote:Once again, such incredible detail. Thanks for sharing - it is fantastic work!! You are inspiring me to buy my first micronauts and give it a try.
Thank you for your good idea, I thought it over and realized I omitted ensign staffs to most ships I built. Apart from it, painting 1/2400 white ensign seems very challenging!StarCruiser wrote:And now, I suppose, you will be adding the White Ensign to each of them!
(Seriously...how?)
Thank you for such a high praise on my humble work/photo.Hoth_902 wrote:I have two words for you Amaz-ing... I particularly like the view of the ships cruising in a line. Can almost see them crashing through the waves heading toward a date with destiny. Awesome stuff.

Thank you, I enjoyed painting it because of its crisp detail!chrisswim wrote:Cav Dog, great camo for those Germans, Very, very nice. I appreciate you sharing.
Yooon, lovely looking ships, really like the life boats. Wonderful.
Many thanks but I'm sorry to say that I could not catch your point clearly because of my poor language skill. Those on my carrier(HMS Ark Royal) are antennas in the raised position(=not flight operation), not safty nets for crew. I referred Jim Baumann's 1/600 Ark Royal. http://www.steelnavy.com/Airfix%20Ark%20Royal%20JB.htm I'm sorry again if my words are not the adequate answer of your question.paul wrote:Gentlemen,

Great work on those ships, Yooon! The painting and extra details really bring them to life. Excellent!

Hey Yooon, that answer my question. I do not remember seeing anything like antennas sticking up on the carriers when watching some of the old WWII videos.

Most WW2 carriers had some type of radio aerial system. In most cases, they were hinged so they could be lowered during air-ops.

Box girder bridge for my table. Laser cut kit.

About 3" long with a 1" wide roadway. I use paper roads so I'll just run the road right through it. I need to touch the paint job up, maybe add some rust here and there.
My games are mostly 1" = 100 yards so bridges that are in scale are far too long. So this design is kind of "representative."

I've been rehabbing some old Panthers:
Before

After

Group Shot

About half the Panthers have been completed with 8 more on the production line.
I left the original base coat and track paint in place but painted a few more details, dry brushed a lighter color, black washed and added decals.

As usual, my wife misplaced her keys this morning and it quickly escalated to a high priority incident. Without delay, I activated the QRF- 1st Platoon B Company had the duty this morning. They quickly located the keys and set up a perimeter around them while I notified my wife. I thought she would be pleased, but she seemed rather irritated. She muttered something under her breath about me needing another hobby as she left.
