Wow, looks great! Cat whisker, eh? I thought you were kidding until I continued to read. I often use the sharp end of my xacto as well to hit those small points. May need to rethink my approach as I am not entirely happy with that…

Sorry I couldn't wait for the paint your trucks month...
LOL Opels look good! I always wondered what to do with the color of the drums. Were they painted a dull color to avoid attracting jabos? Sand colored for Africa? Drab green for Euro? I could never confirm this...
I've been working on an ARVN Armored Cavalry Troop.
Turns out the ARVN Army did not have mixed troops but operated in pure tank and mechanized infantry squadrons, at least according to what I have found so far so my organization is historically incorrect.
It looks more like the Israeli organization but oh well, my toys my way!
Tactics are the opinion of the senior officer present.
Each platoon has a scout section with 4 M113 ACAVs, composed of the platoon leader, 2 scout squads and a weapons squad with a 60mm mortar and a light machine gun, and finally a tank section with 3 M41 tanks.
3 platoons plus a HQ section with the commander, his track and a tank finish out the teeth of the troop.

They were early pieces of my collection and I didn't do a particularly good job painting them, lots of thin and bare spots are visible. I used the old Polly S Floquil line of paints, I think the color was US Armor OD, but unfortunately it is no longer available. It was a perfect match for the M1s I used to see at Ft Hood.
I ended up using V893 US Dark Green through an airbrush.
