Moderns, Moderns, Moderns (1/2400)
Here's a heavy push for moderns (even though I do like many WWII ships and feel the lack of a few). Since I haven't been able to post for the many years I have been watching this forum, I got a little carried away. Great thread BTW Donald, thanks for all your work! Even if you only count my top 12 hopefully other moderns folk will come out of the woodwork with ideas, comments and possibly more votes.
PLAN Navy
We already have a few older ships for limited older scenarios and a we can cobble together a few old and new for a modern scenario, but we need more of both so we can represent modern naval warfare in the Western Pacific.
1. Type 052D Guided Missile Destroyer Already 5 completed and 5 under construction, with 12 planned, twice the number of Type 52C that will ever exist.
2. Type 52C Guided Missile Destroyer 6 completed, the largest number of completed truly modern PLAN Guided Missile Destroyers until the are outstripped by the Type 52D.
3. Type 056 corvette 23 active in Western Pacific, at least 7 more planned and up to 37 more.
4. Type 071 amphibious transport dock 4 active two more under construction, needed for Island hopping scenarios.
5. Type 022 missile boat Estimated 83 active, armed with 8 SSMS.
7. Type 072A landing ship 12 active, needed for same reason as Type 071.
8. Type 037 corvette While not missile armed there were over 100 built, 67 active with PLAN and 1 with N. Korea People's Navy
9. Type 903 replenishment ship 8 built but in two sub-classes.
No offense to submarine lovers but waterline submarines in 1/2400 aren't that detailed (besides the fact that in a battle they should be invisible) I have no problem buying them from other manufacturers, so I would rather see GHQ work their magic on surface ships and 1/2400 aircraft.
6. Modern PLAN Aircraft Pack Should be obvious why by now, much of their stock is no longer Soviet/Russian, those that are especially the SU27-30-33 family can still be gotten from the soviet packs as well as Liaoning and large bomber sized aircraft from the ASW pack.
Suggested aircraft to include:
Chengdu J-10 400 built
Shenyang J-8 390 built
Xian JH-7 240 or more built
Chengdu J-7 since we have no mig 21s currently in the catalog this would be a good way to add them to the catalog without redoing the Soviets, China alone built over 2,400 and exported many.
Q-5/A-5 1,300 built and widely exported
KJ-2000 This is the AWACS they have gone with so far, at least 5 built.
Harbin SH-5A 7 airframes built, 3 definitely used for MPA others possibly, older airframe but still the only MPA plane they have actually used operationally.
US Navy A lot already exists but there are some holes.
10. Mid-Cold War Carrier Aircraft Pack I think I have seen a similar request: A-3, A-4, A-5, A-7, F-8, E-1 Tracer (AEW), S-2 Tracker (ASW). I guess we can fudge and use E-2s without radome for C-2 Greyhounds to span from this era to
A land-based aircraft pack for early-mid-cold war is probably also needed but I'm not going there.
11. Ultra-modern Aircraft Pack I want to second the request for this with FA-18E/F Super Hornet/Growler (doubt they would look much different at this scale) F-35B/C (similar enough), P-8 Poseidon, and I would add a handful of F-22s since some are forward deployed in Asia and the Middle East (P-8s are land-based too). This pack also covers client states that have or will acquire these aircraft.
12. Tarawa-class amphibious assault ship 5 in commission between 76-'80 & decommissioned 2015; Nobody seems to make this class in 1/2400!
Soviet/Russian Navy
13. We could use another land-based aircraft pack for some of the more important fighters and bombers not yet represented: Migs 15/17, 19, 21(if not available in Chinese pack), 23/27, 25/31. SU 17/-20/-22, 24 . Larger assets to consider include Il-28 (covers bomber, ASW, Recon, EW/ELINT versions) Beriev A-50 AEW, and yes the awesome TU-160 which is being produced again and finally used in combat.
14. Grisha-class corvette Over 70 built (three main sub-classes) from mid-late cold war on and almost 60 still in Russian service. Nobody makes this in 1/2400!
15. Tarantul-class corvette Over 120 built over four sub-classes, a little over 50 still in service between Russia and client states. Nobody makes this in 1/2400!
16. Riga-class frigate 68 Built in mid-late 50's, and many sold to client states.Nobody makes this in 1/2400!
17. Koni-class frigate 14 built between 1975-1988, all for client states.Nobody makes this in 1/2400!
18. Parchim-class corvette 25 Built for Soviet Navy and East Germany, all are still in service with the 16 from the DDR now in Indonesian service. Nobody makes this in 1/2400!
19. Pauk-class corvette ASW Patrol Corvette: 45 Built between '77 & '79, at least 22 still in service. Nobody makes this in 1/2400!
20. Gepard-class frigate More modern Frigate, 4 active and more under construction and planned. Nobody makes this in 1/2400!
21. Neustrashimyy-class frigate Only 2 completed due to collapse of USSR, but nice late-Soviet design. Nobody makes this in 1/2400!
22. Sverdlov-class cruiser Armored All gun Cruisers (6in) completed in the early '50s and decommissioned in the late 80's. Nobody makes this in 1/2400!
23. Ivan Rogov-class landing ship High vehicle capacity with Helos carried and well-deck, LPD or LST application. Very cool ships. 3 in commissioned: 78-96; 82-97, 90-2012. Nobody makes this in 1/2400!
24. Ropucha-class landing ship Large LST with significant capacity and some armament, 28 commissioned from '75-'91, 16 active. Nobody makes this in 1/2400!
25. Alligator-class landing ship Beachable amphibious transport docks with a surprising capacity for their weight. 14 completed between 1964 and 1975; retired between 1992–1995. 4 reactivated and another being refitted. Nobody makes this in 1/2400!
26. Bora-class guided missile hovercraft Innovative Russian Design with a surprising amount of heavy weaponry on-board a very fast hovercraft. Nobody makes this in 1/2400!
I have put the following on a lower level as at least competitors offer them, although naturally inferior to what GHQ would put out:
Kashin-class destroyer 25 built in mid-cold war with 6 in a modified class and 6 built for India which are still active.
Osa-class missile boat Over 400 built! Widely exported poster child for Eastern Block & client state guided missile boats. Mid Cold War & Beyond.
Kresta II-class cruiser ASW/AA "Cruisers" (Large destroyer sized) 10 Built for Soviet Navy between 1969 & 1977, decomissioned in early 90's
Kara ASW/AA Cruisers, 7 built between '71&'79, all out of service now.
Kresta I-class ASUW/AA "Cruiser" (Large Destroyer) 4 built between '67 & '69, all decommissioned in the early 90s.
Kynda-class cruiser ASUW Cruiser, 4 completed between '62 & '65, decommissioned in early 90s.
Moskva-class helicopter carrier Large Armed ASW Helo Carriers, 2 comissioned between '67 & '69, decommissioned in 90s. (GHQ would make a nicer model than the other guys.)
JMSDF Maybe because now they are in the top 3 most powerful (conventionally armed) Navies in the world! Luckily for us modern folks they are mostly available from a competitor.
Hatsuyuki-class destroyer 12 Built between 1979–1986, 6 still in service and good for 80s cold war amd beyond.
Asagiri-class destroyer 8 built between 1986–1989, still active.
Abukuma-class destroyer escort 6 built between 1988–1991, still in service.
Akizuki-class destroyer 4 built between 2010 and 2012, still in service.
Kongō-class destroyer 4 Built between 1990 - 1998 and still in service (Experts can weigh in if standard Arleigh Burke is a decent proxy)
Hayabusa-class patrol boat 6 built between 2002 and 2004, still in service.
Hatakaze-class destroyer 2 built between 1983–1988, still in service.
Shirane-class destroyer 2 built 1977–1981, 1 still in service, good for 80s cold war and beyond.
Atago-class destroyer 2 built between 2004–2008 and still active (Experts can weigh in if Arleigh Burke Flt. IIA is a decent proxy)
Osumi class LST/LSD/LHA We don't have to worry about clssification, that's Japan's problem! 3 commissioned from 1998 to 2003. Flat-top for helo (or VTOL) operations, storage for 8 helos, well deck for amphibious assault. Given that GHQ has produced both her successor classes, these were around a bit longer so can be included in scenarios going back further.[/b]
Aircraft are almost all covered by US packs, so not much need in my book.

Most of my new requests for Micronauts consist of major surface warship types from the early to mid-1930s:
1. WWII USA heavy cruiser Indianapolis, early war appearance (Apr. 1942 refit)
2. WWII Greece destroyer Ydra class
3. WWII Finland coast defense ship Vainamoinen class
4. WWII France destroyer Vauquelin class (also very similar to Milan & Epervier of the Aigle class) *
5. WWII USA heavy cruiser Portland, early war appearance (Mar. 1942 refit)
6. WWII Italy destroyer Folgore & Lampo (Folgore class with square bridge)
7. WWII Italy destroyer Baleno & Fulmine (Folgore class with round bridge)
8. WWII Denmark coast defense ship Peder Skram, after 1934 refit
9. WWII Italy destroyer Usodimare & Da Recco ('Navigatori' class without “Oceanic bowâ€) as in 1934 to 1941
10. WWII UK light cruiser Emerald, as in Aug. 1934 to 1940
11. WWII Japan battlecruiser Haruna, as in Sept. 1934 to 1942
12. WWII France light cruiser Emile Bertin, as in 1935, as built, to mid-1943
* Note: GHQ #FRN5 “Vauquelin†actually looks like the Guepard class to me. It is also very similar to the first four ships of the Aigle class.

I'd love this too.WWII USA heavy cruiser Portland, early war appearance (Mar. 1942 refit)
How does Haruna differ from the 1942 Kirishima model?WWII Japan battlecruiser Haruna, as in Sept. 1934 to 1942
How does Emile Bertin differ from the La Galissoniere class? Visibly I mean, I know she was a minelayerWWII France light cruiser Emile Bertin, as in 1935, as built, to mid-1943
I agree it's a GuepardWWII France destroyer Vauquelin class (also very similar to Milan & Epervier of the Aigle class) *

For michaelw43: I will add votes for the ships you listed to the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List. There are some interesting choices in your list.
For dragon6:
Q: How does Haruna differ from the 1942 Kirishima model?
A: The overall appearance is similar but there are a number of detail differences. Limiting this to visual differences only; Haruna had a more massive-appearing main bridge structure, the space between the funnels was slightly greater, the aft funnel was higher than the forward funnel and slightly slimmer, the aft fire control station was more rectangular, etc. In 1934 Haruna had eight 6-inch guns on each side; in 1937 Kirishima had only seven; later the number was reduced in both.
Q: How does Emil Bertin differ from La Galissonnière?
A: Comparing La Galissonnière to Émil Bertin (there were differences within the La Galissonnière class): the biggest differences were the spacing of the funnels and the provisions for aircraft. On Émil Bertin the funnels were widely-spaced with the catapult located between them. A crane for handling the aircraft was mounted forward of the aft funnel. There was no aircraft hangar. Small boat stowage was abreast the funnels. Three 3.5-inch anti-aircraft mounts were located between the aft funnel and the aft 6-inch gun mount (a twin on the centerline deck house and a single on either side.
On La Galissonnière the funnels were closer together with the catapult mounted on top of the aft 6-inch gun mount and a hangar between this and the aft funnel. The aircraft handling crane was mounted on the roof of the hangar. Small boat stowage was between the funnels. There were four twin 3.5-inch anti-aircraft mounts, one slightly aft on each side of each funnel. La Galissonnière was about 8 ft (2.5 m) longer, the bridge structure slightly larger.
FRN05 is definitely Guepard class. This is why I still include Vauquelin class in the Wish List.

RedDragon,
I love your list and happily second it.
On the Tarawa LHA, these can be purchased from CinC or Superior. I have both. PM me if you would like photos of side by side comparison.
Superior also makes Ivan Rogov and Alligators which are typical quality for Superior and a Koni - I don't have it so can't vouch for quality.
