We played a 6mm WWII game last Sunday at Giga Bites Cafe in Marietta GA that is based on the engagement between The Welsh Guards and the recently arrived StuG IIIs of schwere Heers Panzerjaeger-Abeteilung3/559 between Beringen and Helchteren, Belguim, Sept 7 1944.

Here is a link to a quick photo AAR on the Doumeville attack game we played yesterday. Roger is working on one of his comprehensive and masterful AARs that will be posted when it is completed:
Nice table. I'm currently gearing up for a big Eastern Front game, using "Flames of Epic" my big-battle Flames of War variant. I have some troops to get done but mostly a lot of terrain to paint/build.
Keep the inspiration coming!

Meant to post the AAR here
Latest 6mm I Ain't Been Shot Mum game played at Gigabites in Marietta, GA was based on the action between the Hallams and 1/FJR2 with slight help from 3/559 schw pzjgr abl. on October 7 1944. The Hallams were holding a farm village and the German Paras were counterattacking. Once again inspired by the incredible Autumn Gale book by Didden and Swarts.
First time I've used Fallschirmjaegers and they will chew up the opposition if given a chance. First time for the Jadgpanther and well, not so much.

We played this one out a couple of weeks ago. This scenario was based on the Soviet counterattacks by Timoshenko's 20th Army near Luchatschi in July 1941. But really an excuse to get my Shapeways 3D print 8.8cm Flak (sfl) auf Zugkraftwagen 12t (SdKfz or Selbstfahrlafetten or even better-Sfl in a game.

Another September 44 game with Jagdpanthers. This time the Germans find that they've hoisted themselves on their own petard as their attack managed to thread through much stronger units and now have to find a way to get back to their start line. This game is based upon the actions south of Geel on Sept 11, 1944 between the II/Fleiger Regt 53 and some support from 1/schwere panzerjaeger Abt 559 and the 8th Durham Light Inf and Sherwood Rangers.

Oh, I get it now. The captions actually show up when you click on each individual picture.
I must not have done that earlier so was not able to read the blow by blow but I do see it now.
If everyone was happy then it was a great game regardless of who won. That is what gaming is really all about.
Only 2 tank kills in the whole game, so not a typical destructo derby. I would say that the Luftwaffe troops getting most of their men out is a minor victory.
