Really nice. Didn't you do some with sandbags at one time?

What did you use for the radar mesh?

:D
To "tstockton" : It will be very great going to 'partnership" with GHQ with masters but I believe I'm not at the level of GHQ scultpors :? : I think I can provide something very nice but I don't think I can match the accuracy of GHQ (when I see few WWII vehicules, for example, it's an awesome job difficult to perform for a simple wargamer/modeler like me)
However, I have several originals models projects "work in progress" (which could perhaps interested GHQ) you will see some pictures soon. (the first model can be used for WWII and Indochina.... Surprise, surprise... )

To BattlerBritain, Cama, tstockton :
Thanks for your comments guys

Very good job on your radar station 6milPhil, paint and assembly are very great !
However, be careful not to be too "generic" because german or english radar stations were quite characteristic and recognizable patterns : if the model is not sufficiently characteristic, it will be difficult to say what nationality it is at the first look..
(it's only my point of view of course  )
Keep on sharing ! :)
Pibber.
(Long life to GHQ !)

It never fails to amaze me, every time I check out this forum there is more and more inspiration.
Even if it is a project that I know is beyond my capabilities, it just makes you "want to have a go" at something new.

Great work everyone.

Now I need a radar station (Com & Camd center while I'm at it), field hospital (I may have a tent complex for that?), Sally bash (tea/coffee van), deployable Tim Horton's, Coastal Artillery (make that a anti ship missile system to keep Dr Cama at bay).

The list get's bigger and bigger!

Great radar station!! I was working on mine when you posted. I think the multi national use is a great idea as well!!

I modeled mine on a German Freya. Originally I scratch built an octagon structure for it - as seen in photos- but then i improvised. I used an old mount from an AA M3 (1/35) as a "bunker" and then scratch built the radar. I added a few bits for detail. Nothing like nazguls or Pibbers stuff (those guys are phenomenal) but good enough for this very amateur modeler.

Here is a scratch built bombed out factory. I kept open spaces big enough to accommodate my infantry which is based on penny-sized rounds.

Sorry my lighting in the photos stinks. The colors a little more vibrant and have better contrast when you can see it in person...

Here is a wrecked hotel building. I scratch built it so that it could accommodate infantry or vehicles inside. I wanted to sandbag the front entry ways but my sculpting abilities are poor so I just went with debris.

Okay last posting for today!! This is an old mill building I scratch built... I used the suspensions from a 1/35 Pzkw IV kit as machinery in the interior but left room for infantry stands... Sorry about the lighting on the photos...

That building is epic. :)
At this scale, that is an incredible amount of detail . Made game friendly too

Wow.
I'll go back to gluing bits of paper on to my Lego block now :?

And here I was proud of my own approach to adding medical evacuations ... which consists of 1 or 2 ambulance for each of 3 different armies.
Lol... I hear ya.
About 30 years ago I picked up 2 Land Rover ambulance.
About 5 years back I got the GHQ Red Cross decals (still not applied).
This year I put a office body on the back of a Unimog (since I have so many decals).

Progress I guess!

Today I started on my modern field hospital.

BurtWolf: I agree with 7.62, epic stuff! :) I like the detail on all of it, especially the radar array.

What did you use for the brickwork? I haven't found anything close to it locally.

Keep up the work and thanks for sharing,

Cris

Thanks for the compliments guys. Building ruins is relatively easy compared to rail guns!!!!

The brick work is great to work with because it is flexible. It is much easier to work with than the other brands - not sure I can mention names of companies but one is from overseas and the other is a common domestic brand.

This stuff was sold In sheets by a local hobby/train store in Gettysburg. I was told the company, hallston Reynolds out of Evanston Illinois, had gone out of business. So I bought the remaining 5 sheets. (I am down to three now having scratch built a few things beyond what I posted). I have a ton of plastic for scratch building and this is the best I have used.

My only issue is that the texture is only one sided ...

Ok I have a modern radar station coming. Just give me a bit of time for my fingers to heal.
I also need to scrape the skin off the radar tower and add some paint.

Field Hospital

Post by 7.62 »

The bad news is my ambulance are still not ready.
Image

The good news is, when they are, I have a Field Hospital for them.
Image

Need to add to that.

Get the tents up.

It's a bit rushed and very basic but I think it looks like a modular Field Hospital.
The red cross decals are the largest from the GHQ pack, I need bigger ones, 15mm maybe?

I always wanted a Field Hospital, thanks everyone for giving me that little extra push that I needed. I had some of the basic tent areas made up, very generic so I could use them as command or supply etc.

Sorry photo quality is normal poor standard but it is in the basement and the blizzard makes for crape lighting.

This is my 40th Field Hospital unit.

When I build up the reserve 77th Field Hospital unit it will look like this.
Then I will have the 40 &77 units.
