North Africa Campaign
I'd be interested in participating as a player or commander, or ref - whatever. I have the 8th army 1941 combat command - I guess I can use some of those minis. I also have the GHQ WW2 rules, and SeeKreig 4 rules for naval engagements, but no italian or british ships. I started collecting US and IJN fleets. I'm in Reading PA, but as far as I know, I'm all alone out here in terms of gamers. I'm sure they're around, but I haven't been able to find any.

Those of you who have expressed interest please refer to the Afrika Campaign thread or go to http://www.commandoperationscenter.com/ ... mpaign.htm
or
http://www.commandoperationscenter.com/ ... mpaign.htm
for the Naval Campaign.
There is no sign-up, no fees, nothing for your to do but play games within the constraints of the information provided on the web pages designated. You can use your own rules system or the GHQ rules... doesn't matter.
The only requirement is that you provide the information below after you have completed your games using the GHQ point system.
1) Allied Forces Used points/Axis Forces Used points.
2) Allied Forces lost points/Axis Forces lost points.
3) Commanders lost (KIA/WIA)
4) Significant Valor (units/commanders who would be Mentioned in Dispatches)
Battle reports should be made through the web site.

The M-13/40 tanks in this picture are more than 30 years old, painted by our first gaming group in the early 1970's. The figures are not as old but are from the only company that made figures that would work long before GHQ made theirs.
Enjoy...

As far as I know my group, JB and I am the only ones here who have made any effort at all. Very few other forum users are involved. After all that talk, ...nothing happened.
If it weren't for the small user groups in Russia, the UK, JB, and my group playing and reporting all the set up work would have gone for nothing...
Even if no one else participates my group will keep the campaign going. So far the battles have been very interesting. Difficult for the Axis team, but they know things will soon reverse in their favor... My group has conducted and will be conducting a couple of more games that will make a difference in the first portion of the campaign, which has delayed the second round, but since no one is chomping at the bit to go into the second move we are just delaying that posting until we have had the chance to complete our games.
No one has taken on the Naval aspect of the campaign even though it is one of the most active theaters of the war. I am thankful the board game has a way to handle that part without table gaming...
Incidentally, the Allies did not catch the Italian fleet in port... Some ships were lost on both sides in a couple of small skirmishes but the Italian fleet is pretty much complete plus the French are still capable of action. Which side they will fight for is still in doubt.

My real life and the space time continuum being what they are I'm unable to table-top game but would love to help out anyway I can with the naval aspect of the campaign. Is there anyway I can help with this abstraction?

Paul,
We could use someone to monitor the Naval portion of the campaign. Keep track of any losses, run the convoys, do some random engagements, etc... but unless we get some players who are interested in doing the Med we're only wasting your time. There was one individual who expressed interest in the Naval portion so I set up a convoy and some parameters for intercepting, etc., but haven't heard anything back...
