That's great news for you. It's good to hear that the quality (at least of some) is up to GHQ standard. I'll be keeping my eye on the range to how it develops further.
Given my experience, and the fact that I have to order via a third-party, I'm extremely hesitant to order from them any time soon. It's not too much of a hardship for me as most of what they currently offer is available elsewhere.
As we're talking 3d, when I ordered those Italian tankettes from Scotia, I included a list of the Bergmann models I'd like to see them do (which I think I've previously mentioned) - so fingers crossed.

The Elefant looks really good indeed. Won't it br hard to remove the print tree?
I think 3D can be really excellent : I ordered a few years ago some Russo-Japanese warships from War Times Journal when they were still printing. They are indeed very good, but I still prefer metal.

Those do look like very nice 3D models of the Elephant and the Tiger, Olfarty. I too would be concerned with all the delicate work involved to get those off the sprues/trees.
Like you, Olfarty, I am more of a pewter guy. I like the heft of the models as well as having to remove a few mold seam lines and some other minor stuff rather than having to get the 3D prints ready to paint. I also have lots of pewter models awaiting my paint brushes as well. I do, however, see the attraction especially for items that are not available otherwise.

Re: Olfarty's strictly WW2 extravaganza
That's what I'm (mostly) getting. I've bought from both Scotia and BPM and I'm extremely happy with what I've got. One thing with the Scotia stuff that I haven't seen elsewhere is that they're supplying some Italian vehicles with both a printed and metaI gun/turret as they don't feel that the resin (gun barrels) is robust enough to stand up to actual gaming use. I tried PSC but the less said about that the better. I'm happy that Olfarty's has eventually got some of the stuff he ordered from them though - and from the photos it looks very nice. Currently though there's only the Dickermax that I want.
Agreed, but I guess that the same can apply to metal models too. There's also a problem in the UK currently that the two main importers of GHQ are phasing it out. Not that I have much GHQ - but I do have some!
That's only going to economical, for me at least, if I had my own resin printer.I'm not about to start replacing GHQ Shermans or Pz IV's (etc) with 3d printed models
It is strange. I assume that the modellers have to set up their models for each of the materials they want to offer it in. Otherwise, surely, every model would have the same material options.Though some of the print material being used by Shapeways is a bit dubious
I think I've mentioned this before, but to recap. Although I haven't spent any money on Shapeways stuff I have been gifted some by Fred Oliver (as well as some GHQ items too). He was in the same Yahoo group as me but as a collector he only wanted one of every model and generously gave the others away. Anyway, long story short, I think the Fairey Hendon he gave me had that problem. I think I've solved it with cats of both enamel and acrylic varnishes - next time I'm over at the club I'll check to see if it's still ok.With some items the material continues to 'bleed' through the paintwork months after completion - so much so it looks as though I've added glitter!
I'm tempted by the two modern excavators that Scotia introduced recently!Although I never thought I would be 'drooling' over a 3d printed 1/285 scale model of a bulldozer...

Yeah, I saw them mention it on FB. I've taken advantage of it to get 5 towed PaK43s, 8 deployed 21cm Nebelwerfers, and 6 towed 21cm Nebelwerfers. The discount basically covered my postage. I might get more towards the end of the month if I finish the 1/600th Soviet Helos for a friend and thus have a bit more available cash.Olfarty wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 8:24 amMeanwhile, as of 30 seconds ago the BPM website ( https://www.butlersprintedmodels.co.uk/ ) has the words: 20% OFF Printed Models in July - Use code "Summer"

Re: Olfarty's strictly WW2 extravaganza
I'll hold you to that - I have witnesses

But seriously, I do have some GHQ stuff. Mostly stuff that H&R or Scotia don't (or didn't) do or whose models I don't like - H&Rs Csaba armoured cars spring to mind for the latter.
Here's a GHQ M37 Battalion with M39s as HQ vehicles and CinC 50 cals. Currently no decals though

They look very nice and if I'm ever in the need for more terrain pieces they are certainly a viable option. In the meantime I thought someone might have noticed the Terramorph buildings by now....

Olfarty,
Forgive me for my absence on the site and thanks for posting some buildings. They look awesome. I am definitely going to have to check them out, next time I am looking for some buildings. I have been so busy as of late that I have been absent from the forum and my hobby work.
