Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
Hudsons Bay
With the weather finally cleared the Aircraft are brought up back on the Flight Deck to start the simulated Air Attack. a squadron of CF-18s took off to intercept the air training centers CF-86 Sabres who took off from Churchill Manitoba along with 4 DC-6s acting as Heavy Bombers carrying harmless rocket flares to simulate anti shipping missiles aginest the carrier.
A major dogfight ensues with the CF-86s and the CF-18s trying to circle around each other to get a bead on their aft section for a shot. using only their laser rangefinders to activate the smoke canisters underneath the aircraft to signify that hes out of the battle. 1 of the CF-18s broke off from the dogfight to engage the DC-6s but he has a sabre behind him. Acting quickly the pilot knocks out one DC-6 and flys around to deal with the Sabre chasing him. The Sabres where no match for the CF-18s though one sabre scored a lucky hit on one CF-18 and sent him back to the carrier. with the fighters gone they try to reach the 3 DC-6s who are nearing the carrier, racing quickly to catch up, they managed to knock out 2 of the DC-6s but the last one got within range to fire the rockets but was intercepted by the Laser ranger finder from the Carrier sending the last DC-6 returned back to Churchill.
Tonight they are going to fly out for the nighttime version of this course to intercept 4 CF-5 and 2 DC-6s in the dark using their radar to find them.

Valparaiso Chile
HMCS Skeena is currently in the process of refueling for the second leg of the journey that will take them to New Zealand, and Australia, before arriving back in CFB Esquimult.
The Captain and his officers is meeting with their Chilean counterparts onboard the Latorre class Battleship Arturo Prat (ex Almirante Latorre).
Once refueling is concluded the Skeena will be escorted by the Brooklyn class Light cruiser O'Higgins out of Valparaiso.

Oh, all 80 aircraft can be stored in the hanger deck. I didn’t know that.
A L.A. Class SSN is following the HMCS Skeena headed down in the Panama Defense Zone.
Then made an Emergency blow to have a very visible surfacing operation, going up at full speed at 40 degrees. We were then picked up on radar.
The RNC ship then left us, our surface speed is lousy.

Hudsons bay.
In the cover of darkness, 4 CF-18s took off from HMCS Canada, to intercept the 4 CF-5s and the last 2 DC-6s from the Air Training company.
The CF-18 pilots are trying to get used to fighting in the dark using only their radar, they managed to spot the CF-5s and intercepted them, both squadrons began to circle each other just trying to get on their six, eventually one CF-5 got send home by a lucky hit from the CF-18. While the rest of the CF-18s tango with the CF-5s, one of the CF-18s tries to track down the DC-6s, one should up on radar and pointed the rangefinder at it sending it home, tracked the other one and sent it home. with both DC-6s gone, the CF-5s retreated.
This Air Attack course is now over. Tomorrow is a simulated submarine attack.

Hudson Bay
S-2 Trackers from HMCS took off on their training exercise to hunt down the 3 Oberon class subs the RCN is using for this course. The Tracker Squadrons began to split up in every direction to widen the search area to hunt the subs down. The Sea Kings also took off to Provide a second layer of ASW Defence for the Carrier. Eventually one of the Trackers locates the first Oberon sub just near the eastern side of the bay near Quebec. The rest of the Subs where found just west near Churchill. looks like the ASW Sonar on the Trackers is working just fine.
Tomorrow Is Anti-Shipping Practice the final course in this exercise.

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
That is really good ASW work. If naval war breaks out your carrier and S-2 Trackers lead the way.
If you would describe you search pattern, the operational and tactical movement? That would help our guys, may CoC send a few crews there for training?

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
Im sorry Chris but military law prohibits any sharing of such sensitive and tactical material to others, in case of espionage by a determined enemy. I do not want my tactics to be countered by our foes.
Hudsons Bay
With the ship hulks towed into position, CF-18s squadrons loaded with Harpoons and Mk 46 Torpedos took off from the Carrier to attack those targets, the goal is to attack them in the fastest time possible, but extreme caution is needed as those are live weapons their carrying.

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
The Anti-shipping Strike was somewhat a success but I expect them to do much better.
All aircraft will be stowed away in the Hanger deck for the trip back to CFB Halifax, the 1st Carrier Air Wing has done its job.

HMCS Skeena enroute to New Zealand from Chile, Pacific Ocean.
(Captain): "Pirate attack on a ROD flagged Tanker in Indonesia eh?"
(Navigator): "Its too far away for us to reach the tanker sir, we are not even close to the Indian Ocean, better not think about traveling there."
(Captain): "Danm, oh well it the RODs problem now."
(Radioman): "Captain I got word that the Australian Navy Oiler HMAS Westralia, she will arrive at the meeting point to refuel us midway through our journey."
(Captain): "Good."

CFB Esquimult
With the Evaluations of the 4 Visby class Corvettes from the old KDF Navy completed. The RCN will decided what to do with these 4 vessels in the meantime they will remain in the inactive naval yard in Esquimult for the time being. Most likely all four Visbys will be scrapped and its materials used to ether repair Damaged Vessels from the Black Sea War campaign, or used in the construction of replacement vessels to fill in the Gaps.
The plan goes as follows
HMCS Nabob will be transferred to a helicopter cruiser or destroyer once a class of ship is selected.
HMCS Confederation will be transferred to a Vanguard Class Battleship Modernized to carry Guided Missiles.
HMCS Quebec will be Transferred to a Belknap Class Guided Missile Crusier. (Option exist to transfer HMCS Ontario to this class instead of upgrading the crown colony class Light Cruiser.)
New Halifax class frigates will be built to replace the ones lost in the war.
New Iroquois Class DDGs will replace the ones lost in the war.

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
Good choice. Recover .02 on the dollar. Could sell them to another country’s navy. Get more.
But do not let influence your decision in any way.

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
The RCN has narrowed down the fate of the 4 Visbys into two options.
1. Replace 4 Flower Class Corvettes and Incorporate the Visbys into the RCN.
2. Send the Visbys to the ship breaking firm in Vancouver for scrapping so that the materials can be recycled.
The verdict on their fate will be decided tomorrow.

Mech,
Let’s see the Visby, I want to see how you painted them.
What scale are yours? 1/350?

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
I honestly don’t have a Visby model as of yet, I did ask Mick if he can make one for me but he has not replied back yet.
If I don’t get a Visby so, those 4 ships will be scrapped.
