ShortRound had a good idea of starting a separate thread for US Army questions. Talking about the M728 CEV got me thinking (dangerous prospect). Does anyone know the unit ID from FT Hood that participated in the Branch Davidian assualt in Waco back in '92 (or was it '93?)?

I was at Ft Hood when that occured I think they were National Guard. No one from my Division participated in that operation. Second Armored Division

JTF-6 COORDINATES MILITARY INVOVLEMENT IN CIVILIAN LAW ENFORCEMENT OPS. UNITS OFTHE 36TH INFANTRY DIVISION PARTCIPATED I DO NOT KNOW THE SPECIFIC UNITS. I'M STILL RESEARCHING TO FIND ACTUAL UNITS THAT PARTICIPATED. IN ADDITION THERE WERE SEVERAL SPECIAL OPERATIONS FORCES SOLDIERS THAT TRAINED ATF AGENTS AT NEARBY FORT HOOD. THEY DID NOT PARTCIPATE IN THE RAID OR PROVIDED ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE OTHER THAN TRAINING AND EQUIPMENT SUPPORT. ALTHOUGH SEVERAL REPORTS INDICATE OTHERWISE.

FYI the 36th was not activated when the Branch Davidian incident happened. It would have been the 49th AD.
