...I wargamed a section of the Kursk battle that led to the prokhorovka area sunday. I used the integrity rule for the Soviets. The Tank brigade commander got blown out of 2 T34s,and still is alive when we stopped for the day. The Brigade was made of 2 T34 comapnies,a KV company, and a T70 company. All units were given orders and if they needed a change it was done by radio,or the commander making contact with a subordinate. We played over 20 turns which would have simulated any where from 40 minutes to an hour and 40 minutes of combat.
The battle for the Forest along the road is an infantry battle that is still raging. The 1,bn/II LSAH are assaulting the forest from the south.
Just a few pictures to show the initial stage
Thanks Grant. Yes the battle was really fun. It was one of those whirling swirling tank battles.I don't think anybody got closer than 1000m. It was a lot of maneuver and fire. After about 20 turns (3 hours actual time) we called it for until next weekend. We still ahve the infantry fighting for the woods. One thing we tried out was infantry on a 1 equals 2 scale or one base equals a squad. works great.
