Our paints are made for us by Howards Hues. In the Winter 2005 issue of Games Quarterly Magazine they did a test of 8 different paint lines- Howards Hues by Regal Distributors, Regal Realms by Regal Distributors, Iron Wind Paints by Iron Wind Metals, Pro Paint by Reaper Miniatures, Adikolor by Adiken, Model Colors by Acrylicos Vallejo, Game Colors by Acrylicos Vallejo, and Hobby Paint by Games Workshop. The following was said of the Howards Hues paints "These are quite possibly the best paints in this survey", and they were chosen as the best value.

Before we got into the paint business, we researched the market for several years. First, we wanted to have a quality paint. Secondly, we wanted to have paints that were not outragelously expensive. We found some paints that were great, but too expensive, and we also found some paints that were cheap and were crap. There are a lot of paints on the market, and we did not want to get into the market unless we found a paint that fit both criteria.

For anyone who wonders why we decided to get into paints, this is from the section of our website that lists the paint:

People always ask us how we get such realistic results on our display models. For years we hand mixed the colors that we used to paint all of our display models and those that you see here on our website. Now you can achieve the same results without having to mix your own paints. These paints are all specially formulated for use with GHQ models. They all have been toned down slightly to simulate the water vapor, dust, etc. that is present in the atmosphere when viewing an actual vehicle or ship from a distance. If you view a 1/285th scale model on a table from 3' away, that is the equivalent of looking at an actual tank from almost 900'! All of the dust and water vapor in the air catches light and tones down what you are looking at. Without the slightly toned down colors, your models will appear too dark, and not realistic. These paints are a must for obtaining realistic results with Micro Armour® and Micronauts®.

We have had a lot of great feedback on our paints.

GHQ, are other colors available to order from your supplier?

We finally have a FS # to match for USSR WW2 tanks, but your greens are too dark. You need something like 34102 or lighter for your distance effect.
