Hello Guys

Here are some pictures of a Hungarian heavy weapons platoon, that I finished last night.

I have used FOW for the organisation, I really like this part of these rules.

Also FOW bases, great size and Magnetic! Cool!

Here they are unpainted on FOW bases,
AT rifles and 7/31m machine guns from the Polish heavy weapons set, the rest from the German infantry and artillery crew sets.


Here they are finished, I have real difficulty photographing infantry!



And a German Pak40 based the same way

Nice troops guys. Here is a picture of a Panzergrenadier assault on the village of "byelyenikhino". This "vil" is about 9kms southwest of Prokorovka 12 July 1943. We played the game today seeings how some of us didn't have work or school,and we were defininately not going shopping.
The troops are mounted on metal bases. They in turn mount on to a 3/4 X 3/4 inch base,that has 5 magnets, and is then flocked. Each of these bases represent a squad. If a casualty is taken then a trooper is removed or 25% squad casualty per trooper. I also have an ID tag on a metal base that has unit ID,skill ratings,Balkan kreuse,and 2nd SS tactical symbol.

Thanks,Grant. I just love to see Massive troop formations for ACW and Napoleanics.
We did "McPhearson's Ridge" (or the first engagement at Gettysburg) a couple years ago,at Little Wars. We had the whole Iron brigade and one Confederate Brigade(the name of the brigade eludes me at the moment) at 1 to 1 scale. Each player commanded a regiment of roughly 200 or so. It was interesting to see what happens when your comrades don't properly support you i.e. the 14th Tennesee getting their keasters(spelling?) shot off because of a conflict in commands...
Anyways ,I'm obviously not a photogragher either,especially with this 8 year old camera.

Wish mine were as good as Ritter's. I guess I'll keep on trying.
One thing I think I may have to do is go back and flock each and every individual figure base to blend them into the terrain.
I looked at some of Ritter's earlier work and the figure bases weren't covered, but now he does, and I think it looks a lot better.

A couple turned into standing SAWs

Squad Leaders,RATELOs,and shortened M249s

One of the things GHQ did get right was the sprue count on the US infantry. The 9 man squad for the army is the right organisation (Minus one M203 and the SAWs) for the Light Infantry, Air borne, Air Mobile and Stryker. The biggest difference in these formations is the heavy weapons platoons. Global Security.org has the FM's that show that mix.

Once you build the line platoons all you have to do is build the largest weapons platon and you can deploy them for any US Army infantry except 11J (Bradley Mech Infantry)
Building this company was a pain. If you do it man for man I'd modify one heavy eapons pack to all SAW sprues. You will need alot of Dragons and SAW's

For US Marines take the 9 man squad and add one kneeling NCO and 3 SAW's and your set.

I thank all of you posters for your wonderful Infantry and Infantry related "stuff" . It is really pleasing to see your collections.

This very picture inpired me to re-base all my squads with an additional Soldier and flocked bases. A super-great job!

Fantastic scene. I`ve ordered my Rams and Paratroops (Brits) But they`ll be Canucks if I have anything to do about it. Just foolin. I`d like to find out where Ritter placed his information about the painting of the British or Canadian uniforms of WW2. I`m not sure where I saw it. But, it couldn`t have been that long ago? Anyways I like the paint job on the infantry and I`d like to emulate them as much as possible for a dio. I live in Winnipeg and I don`t think that there`s anyone here that is into micro armour.
