THe thread on German decals got me thinking. What decals would you like ot see GHQ make? Number one on my list would be arabic tank numbers, and the same screens could do them in black and white. The Egyptians, Syrians, and Iraqis all used arabic numbers on their tanks.
GHQ has a good line for Isreali vehicles but nothing for the rest of the middle east.

I'de like to see some "Croix de Lorraine" decals for Free French troops.

I think the germans captured vehicles in the hands of French were really "tres joly".

The decals that I would like to see are the inverted "V"s that were used as markings on the allied vehicles during Desert Storm. I can never get those to look right when I paint them by hand.

I could really use some tips on how to apply the decals. They look great on the tanks but I have a tough time applying them. Any tips?

I'd like to see the German tactical numbers expanded to cover the fourth platoons that many of the KSTN called for and see the companies expanded up to the 13th as well as "S".

Soviet patriotic slogans would be nice too.

Also, would love to see detailed flight deck markings for the WWII carriers.

And maybe related to the earlier-mentioned thread... maybe even smaller national insignia and numbers, for those smaller tanks -- such as the PzKfpw I's and II's

I know it's difficult enough now -- I can hardly do anything anymore without my trusty magnifying headset! But maybe having those even smaller numbers would acutally be easier to apply to those tiny, tiny turrets!

Oh, and I second most of the ideas already mentioned -- especially the "patriotic slogans" for Russian armor. And maybe how about some names, etc., often seen on American armor during World War II?

Ummm, and how about more aircraft markings... after all, it seems to me that there was quite a bit "more different" markings on all aircraft -- and they were (are) more visible, too!

Well after bugging GHQ for some time about doing some 1/285th Russian Patriotic slogans for tanks/afv's, I finally bought some excellant ones from Microscale. They are (unfortuantely for our hosts) much better quality with higher resolution than the GHQ ones. (Perhaps GHQ will up the ante or simply license Microscale and cut costs) I have the American Stars, German set and Russian armor, complete with the slogans. The German set even has some nice premade nazi flags for air recogition. I ordered them via the net and recieved them one (1) day later!!!! During the holidays even. Great service!!!!

I use them also; the Soviet numbers are great for moderns -- the numbers have a great blocky look that really imitates the Russian style.

As for what i would like to see from GHQ -- a sheet of modern NATO aircraft insignia -- Belgian, Dutch, French, Italian roundels (maybe 8 per sheet), plus a larger number of modern RAF insignia. Definitely a neglected area.

sfsppe, I agree about the resolution issue that you mention. I have a couple of sets of D7 (German red turret numbers), one of which is a couple of years old. The definition of the older set is far better than those ordered earlier this year. Under a glass it looks as if the recent set has halftone screens of more than one colour – which gives an uneven appearance to the edge of the characters – whereas the earlier set looks to have been printied 'line' as a single solid colour.

Of the sets I have, the ones that suffer the most from multicolour printing are the Briitish tactical symbols (D15).

At this scale the halftone screen is quite noticeable. I would like to see a return to their earlier production standard.

It would be good to see squadron markings for the aircraft models, but I decided to have custom sets made for the units I wish to portray. This seemed like the only way to achieve the level of detail I required. So far I have seen a prototype set, which looked excellent (squadron insignia included). This is a slightly longer term project for me and the manufacturers, who plan to market the sets commercially in due course. So we have to get our research right!
