Are there future GHQ plans for expanding the modern micronaut line. No need to spill secrets, a simple yes or no, perhaps countries...wink wink, nod, nod. :D

Recommendations please. I recently made the decision to base some of my 1/2400 ships, the small fast patrol boat types. I bought some of the wave-textured plastic sheets which I will cut to size. My question is this how would you recommend I represent the rooster tail wake thrown up behind a hydrofoil specifically the US PHM? I'm thinking a bit of cotton pulled out to the appropriate shape and glued down could work. Anyone tried something like this yet? Any pictures?

Wave textured plastic? I am intrigued. Any chance of more details?

Von Ted,

If you look on the "Micronaut Only" thread SeaHarrier talked about it as a material to base his ships on. Basically it is a thin sheet of blue colored translucent plastic that has little wave like ripples molded into it. He describes his technique and I'm going to give it a go for my smaller missile boats to see if I like it. I think he has pictures posted on that thread or maybe the Show your stuff thread to see how his turned out.

About the Wave textured plastic sheeting. If you local modeling store does not carry this in their stock, you can order it directly from Plastruct on their website which can be found at :www.plastruct.com

They also give a list of the stockist on the site, so you should have very little problem finding it.

Hope this helps,

I did up my US Pegasus PHMs last night. They came out fairly good I think although the plastic sheet is a bit too shiny for my taste, I may try to tone that down a bit. Pictures by tonight. Now I need to get 6 more to mount as waterline models for when they're just cruising around.

Paul - great effect you achieved with the cotton! Came out very nicely and definitely conveys the image of high speed.

Hmmm... Says they're 80' long with a 22' beam makes it pretty close to the 80' x 20'8" of the Elco 80' PT boat. Scratch build a different superstucture on one of GHQ's PT Boats add some hydrofoil legs and you're there. Thanks for another project.

Sorry, the spacing on the list didn't come out at all but the point is there's so much to do and so little time. Is the Tucumcari class a single ship?
