Italian Submarines

Now, I'll chime in here to submit a suggestion for GHQ to produce at least one class of Italian submarines (WW2), to wit, the '600' series is a good place to start.

The Italians actually put a very large number of submarines into service during the World War 2 era. Since the 600 series are largely the same (and nearly 60 built), it would be a good comprehensive class to have.

For example: http://www.regiamarina.net/subs/classes/600/600_us.htm

For those of us that are looking to buy the Italian navy, at least one Italian sub class would be a good stand-in.

Those would be a good idea for using in a Malta Invasion!

Great suggestion Eric!!
I want more U.S. and Japanese subs, but I had not given much thought to the Italians.
The 600s would be a great first sub for the Italian Navy and they merit being done.

Anything that we can get 5 in a pack is popular.

Excellent choice Eric! and 59 units built to boot! Okay GHQ, I want to see this on the next list of new models for the 2007/8 production year. An Italian submarine would go a long way towards rounding out the Italian navy as their submarine arm was very active and aggressive during the war. ...and besides, look at all the convoys that went through the Med on both sides, it seems the whole naval war in the Med was driven by the need to resupply the armies in North Africa.

This would be a great addition to the line. There were actually only 17 of these built but no matter, they were very active. Only one survived the war. They were used by the Decima Mas to deliver frogmen on their missions, the Scire for example, as well as standard war partrols in order to interdict enemy traffic.
