Here are a few pics from my upcoming game at Recon 2007 and Historicon 2007. The game title means something akin to "The God of War has forgotten us". The board is a massive 16Ft by 5.5ft. I will post more tomorrow showing the entire board.

This is a few of the 7th Inf troops coming ashore.

Most impressive Bill. I will most certainly look your game up at Historicon.

Whales, very cool.
Indeed very cool!
Didn't catch that so far - now I see it! Cool I already had the idea to use this special model-water (some kind of fluid which is getting hard after some time, I think it is a Epoxy style substance) and "throw" in a "rubber-whale" from the toy-store.

Cheers Ben

Ben, I used a similar method. I made the whales by cutting out a general outline from foam and then covered them with aluminium tape. They were then primed and painted, mounted to a piece of sheet styrene which was coated in gloss gel medium, painted, dry brushed and gloss varnished. Your idea will work just as well.
