Mark I love your table and minis! That looks so realistic, it really adds so much flavor to the game. The debris, the telephone poles, etc I just love the detail. Inspiring work, thank you, and keep posting!!

Mark - Great AAR. Great table. Just ... great.

Note - A good place to view this AAR is here: https://www.vislardica.com/iabsm-aar/luther-canadian-vc

There are many more of Mark's AARs here as well.

Telephone poles? Are you kidding me????? That's an incredible board! I thought the top pic on the website was an actual aerial photo at first!

Hi Mark L.

That is a great looking and very interesting situation. I have thought about doing a game on closing the Falaise Pocket before but need more stuff to get it ready, among my many other things I am working on. Thanks.

My club game on August 22nd is Lamluda Forks, December 1941 in the Libyan Desert. The British are chasing the Italians trying to destroy as much as possible before they catch up to the rest of The Afrika Korps. Here are a few shots of interest which show the terrain maker set up and some shots I took to encourage attendance at the event.

If I can remember to do so, an AAR will follow.

Hi Bill

That is a very nice looking game. Great pictures of some beautiful terrain and minis. I really like the Hurricanes. I have a fair sized German and British force for North Africa in 1942 but still need to paint up my Italians and Americans at some point.

Thanks Gents, the desert does well with Terrain Maker hexes. I did my Italians before I did the Afrika Korps Germans as I enjoy the 1940-41 stuff more than the later engagements.

Wow fantastic desert boards- they really look excellent. I’d love to know your method of making the hexes- that’s exactly the type of North Africa board I want to play on! My Germans, brits and Italians are mostly done but I have yet to make any hexes...

Fighters look well done too, can wait to see the burning tanks and gun emplacements throughout the board. Keep posting that great stuff thanks!

Perhaps I can post something on the methodology I used to create them. Next time I break out a few unpainted hexes, I will try to remember to do a short presentation on the subject. Be more generous with flocking than you would think for the desert. The desert is actually full of life, flora and fauna.

That’d be great - I’d find it useful as I’m sure others would. Thanks!
