Playing Team Yankee, first time played in about a decade.

The Russian right flank attack get shot to sh.t.


Their left flank sneaking in.



The EE right flank pushes past the pond.


Commonwealth repositions some armor to get into the fight.




The CoC forces did need to give ground, trying to hold the town. Losses were higher than expected.


It was a victory, similar to ‘Ants’.

Doing the north shoulder of Kursk always gives me a chance to break out everyone's favorite big assault guns. This game takes place a few days into Citadel with the German offensive running into a counterattacking Soviet force in wide open terrain. The German players had 4) Ferdinands, 3) StuG IIIs (with 2 Tank Aces), and 2 StuH42s of StuG 244. German infantry consisted of a weakened company of Grd Rgt 507 and a pair of MMGs in support. Their objective was to continue the advance south and get a viable force off the table. The Russians had 2 companies of T34s from the 51st Tank Brigade and 2 companies from the 1019 Rifle Rgt and were out to halt the Germans. TFL's I Ain't Been Shot Mum rules played at GigaBites Cafe in Marietta GA

Another game from last year. This scenario takes place as the 2nd New Zealand Div pushed west towards Orsogna, a battlegroup of the 18th Arm Rgt, 22nd Mot Bttn and some armored cars of the Divisional Cavalry made a feint along the Melone - Guardigrele road. The Germans are hard pressed and hoping to at least stall the Allied push with this small force of grenadiers and panzers. I played the defenders since they were mostly immobile and I was hoping that the terrain would keep the Kiwis at bay. Germans had only a reinforced platoon and a pair of PzIVs, and some artillery that never landed and the Allies had a company of infantry and 11 M4s. The mud was neutral.

That looks like another awesome game Mark! The terrain looks amazing! How long did it take you to get the ta le all set up?

I can't hit the link on my phone, but I'm going to check out the full AAR when I get into a computer. Your AARs are always great!

Took about 45 minutes once in the shop. Half of that to pick up.

Very nice game, excellent AAR and great minis and photos.
What I really like in your games is the care you have not only for the aesthetics and the narration, but also for the believability of the scenario : it's unequal, one side has no real chance to "win". From what I read, that's the case most of the times... also, kudos on picking the underdog for yourself.

Mouthed, I like the damage on the buildings. Effective.
