On my site there are photos of some of the smaller ships with a penny as well. Hope this helps....

Hi armypainter,

I can give some Ideas on Modern Ship Sizes at 1:2400 Scale:

CVN 65 - U.S.S. Enterprise = 14 CM's - Superior
BB 61 - U.S.S. Oiwa = 11.1 CM's - GHQ
CGN 36 - U.S.S. California = 7.5 CM's - GHQ
CG 52 - U.S.S. Bunker Hill = 7.0 CM'S - GHQ
DDG 81 U.S.S. Winston Churchill (Flight2A) = 6.3 CM's - GHQ
DDG 51 Arleigh Burke (Flight 1) = 5.9 CM's - CinC
FF 1052 - U.S.S. Knox = 5.4 CM's - GHQ
FF 88 H.M.S. Broadshword = 5.4 CM's - GHQ
D 80 H.M.S. Sheffield = 5.2 CM's - GHQ
F 169 - H.M.S. Amazon = 5.1 CM's - GHQ
S 87 - H.M.S Turbulent = 3.4 CM's - GHQ

I have many other ships from GHQ and other makers, but this should give you a good idea on the actual length of those types of ships. Hope this helps with the sizes of the 1:2400 Scale Ships,
