For those that use Terrain Maker hexes how big are they? The catalog says four inches side to side - is that from flat side to opposite flat side? From one corner to the opposite corner? or is each of the six sides four inches?
The reason I ask is that I'm going to be casting some Z scale RR tracks in resin this weekend and I'm trying to decide if its worth the trouble of sizing them to exactly fit on a TM Hex. The piece I'm using for the mold is 110mm which works out to about 4-1/3 inches. I don't use TM Hexes so I'm trying to decide if its worth the effort for me to size it that way. Would others want some track sections if so what's the best length?

Paul,
I used Micro Trains Z-scale flex track; they are a wee bit over 12" long, so I was able to cut three 4" pieces from a single one. The flex track comes in a ten-pack, and I got mine for about $36.00 -- which works out to about $1 for the track for a single hex.
I've got a "mini-tutorial" on my website on how I did my railroad hexes.

Hope this helps!
