I need some trucks for my different Modern Armies. Since GHQ does not make specific truck for certain armies I was wondering if someone could recommend some substitutes.

I need truck for the French army 1980-1990

And the IDF 1960-70 and then 1980 to know.

Thanks so much

Truck for French and IDF:
GHQ
Brit WW2 trucks(a bunch of 'em) or modern, German 2-ton modern, Soviet 2-ton modern.

Other manuf. of South African,or other. Another option use supposedly that same truck, but it will look alittle different.

A propos: The Morris 15-CWT truck now on special might be a serviceable stand-in for the French VLRA (vehicule de liason, de reconnaissance, et d'appui). This is a light truck used for many purposes in the French army, most notably in Africa and other outlying outposts. Very common transport for Forign Legionaires.

...it looks like some "squaring up" would really be needed,to include some modernization...

Hi,

for the IDF you can also use some modern US stuff like the Ford Mutt, HMMWV and bigger ones as well.
If you wish some specific info drop me a PM.

...maybe a US Dodge 1.5 ton weapons carrier. I think that has the "squared" off fenders?

One example of a IDF truck. A friend took this photo for me (while my camera was down), during a trip in Israel.

Presuming we are still on the subject of the VLRA stand-in...

Yeah, I looked at the Dodge models. The squared-off front looks very good for the purpose. But the 1.5 ton weapons carrier has a 4x6 configuration, while the VLRA is a 4x4. Very noticable. The 3/4 ton weapons carrier is a 4x4, but the spare-wheel placement is a big visual issue when looking for a VLRA stand-in.

The US Dodge ambulance chassis looks like the best, and it may be possible to kit-bash some VLRAs from an ambulance chassis and weapons carrier body. I don't have any of them in hand to see if the body could fit on the chassis. Does anyone else have a couple laying around?

Hello,

have one more addition for the IDF truck theme.
They also use different version of the Tatra 815 (some with the new cab, some with the older one, others with extended cab). I recently received some photos from a friend in Israel, showing diverse Tatra 815 in 6x6 configuration.

Best regards,
Ben
