Hello all,

I got a new GHQ catalog with an order I received this week. On the back cover, there is a new product - "Skirmish Board" for holding Terrain Maker hexes in place. Has anyone purchased one of these yet? Any feedback? I can't seem to find it in the online catalog; anyone know where it's at? Maybe not "officially" for sale yet?

Are they available? well, in a way I guess. I placed an order for one earlier today (over the phone) and they took my order, but it sounds like they are not available at this very moment. They couldn't tell me when it will actually ship.

I've just used a large olive drab piece of felt for years, and have been very happy with the results. The rough underside of the Terrain Make hexes grabs the material quite securely. In the lower right corner of the picture below, the cloth can be seen.

It secures the hexes despite several elevated layers. In the Stalingrad set-up below, the hexes are stacked 4 high.

It says that the front cover has a pciture of two of the boards used to make a larger layout. I would be interested in seeing this. Any chance you could scan and post that for us?

Sure, I'll scan it tonight and post it... it really doesn't show much though. It's a close up and you can see the "plastic lip" border between two boards. But, it might be helpful, I'll post it.

Thanks fof the compliment. I really like like how Terrain Maker can be used to create totally different landscapes.

I live in the Tampa Bay area. I'll be running the air assault and battle for the Maleme airfield on Crete next weekend and will post some pictures of it afterwards.

WHO's the two old guys in the picture? Anybody from up there at GHQ? Anyways,that picture is the pure aspect of Micro Armour to me. I do use a 4'X4' setup though. As I've stated numerous times I play on maps until there is a conflict then setup the battlefield. What you see in the picture is enough for a resoloution.

I guess you could paint the edges of the skirmish board to match the terrain hexes so it would blend in. I made my own skirmish boards. Cost very little money. Just have to have the tools or you could get stuff cut at the DIY store. See post below. I plan to make some more to add on. The only thing with my board is you have to transport flat so the hexes don't slide off. The big advantage is there are no dividers between the boards and the quick connect fittings keep everything locked together.
