Hello All,

In the last couple of months, I've had a few requests to make a "community" photo gallery so that people who want to, can share their MicroArmor photos.

I've put together a community portion of my website for this purpose. If you're interested in participating or would like to know more details, please visit my site for more Information. This page will also direct you to a Poll and Contest that I'm holding in celebration of this new community site.

Please note that this is a "Beta" site at this time and I've disabled member registration - I want to see the level of interest before I open it up for use.

Exceptionally nice work! I like the TC in the tiger. Did you use the officer crew member from the Sdkfz 250 for him?

The Tigers are 15mm FOW, I used the default TC that came with it... I dabbled a bit in 15mm before returning to GHQ for good

GGGggEEeeeezze , does that make me feel dumb ,REAL dumb. I thought that you used a microscope and surgical tools to paint his uniform and reconstruct his head gear. The pose is uncanny,its the same pose as the officer figure in the Sdkfz 250 kit (GHQ's).
BTW your work is still exceptional!

Hi Everyone,

I've had a lot of visitors to the Community Site in the last 3 days (250+) but less than 20 that completed the poll Oh well... the feedback that I did get was all good. I've enabled the site now and if you'd like to register for a membership you are more than welcome to.

Also, I've removed the rule that you must have a registered account to post photos to the Gallery...... I don't want to discourage people from sharing their photos. You still need an account to post comments though.

Realize that this is a new site so not much content there....except my photos. But check back soon as I've already received one request to add personal photos to the gallery - and I hope more people will want to share.

Just got done reviewing your tutorials on painting and must say they look great.

I've tried using your method to paint some T-55s Syrian Army 1973, with a base color of Soviet green with sand as as the overcoat. Regret to say they didn't come out so well, problem being the sand is "lost" against the green and the black wash didn't do anything. The detail came through fine though. Actually I have either a very faint camo job on Syrian tanks, or rather dusty Soviet T-55s.

So I'm thinking of using sand as the base coat and using the green as the overcoat.

What impressed me was the results you got by using a brush then using a "expensive" method (airbrush). But $30 for sable brushes???

But then.................

Got to think about that.

Excellent job on the site. How in the world did you do the winter camo on the Tigers? It is some of the best and most realistic I've seen.

1. german grey basecoat applied with an airbrush
2. do a rough and spotty over spray of white with an airbrush (leaving some of the grey showing through)
3. using a brush and varying degrees of watered down white, paint splotches on top of the airbrushed white. This technique is described as "mapping" in Mig Production's FAQ to Painting AFV's book.
4. using a brush, paint german grey spots and "chips".....especially areas like corners and edges.
5. use a black/brown wash over everything.

Keep in mind these Tigers are 15mm.... I wouldn't say this technique is impossible with 6mm.....but it would definitely be difficult. I'm planning to try it someday but haven't found the time.
