Hello,

I guess this is kind of dated material being June 14th, 2007. Here is a link for those interested.

I had not been following it as closly as I was years ago. Kind of snuck up on me that they have finally been slated as operational.

Planned replacment of CH-46's who have served a fine and long career. Probably be many years before they go complely out of US service though. I would suspect they stick around in reserves for many more years.

What made me look it up was recieving a V-22 in my latest order.

Northman:

June 2007 "Leatherneck" magazine has a small article about VMM-263 (formerly HMM-263) preparing to deploy with the MV-22. Late September is the date they list.

I had the opportunity to go "tactical" in the new Osprey last year... man what a ride. I am very happy to see the squadron operational.

Outstanding. Now I have an idea of how to paint them.

Yet I still like the idea of painting them in the USMC Camo (drak grey/light grey) they had stuff in for awhile. (Not sure if they still do or not.)
