Mech, It could be done but I would not do it.

The #2 USA company makes a very fine model of each of what you are looking for.

Anybody got some Ideas on the possible armament that was intended for the HMCS Bras d'Or (FHE-400) if her program wasn't cancelled?

Hi MechCommander,

I've hit several unclassified reports on two websites. The first is just the construction and testing, saying weapon studies were being carried out in parallel with the construction program but didn't have that study on their site. The only teaser is a line drawing showing torpedoes in the aft hull. The second site covered every hydrofoil design and study from the RCN. It states in a small subsection that FHE-400 Bras d'Or was supposed to be fitted with 4 Mk44 torpedoes. :D

It didn't appear they planned on any guns. It didn't even mention any MGs. I guess as an ASW ship they just wanted those torpedoes. Also cool seeing their test data on towed arrays with a hydrofoil.

Hello since there's no model of it yet which existing micronauts mini could pass for the Cr class destroyer?

I believe the best fit for Cr-class destroyers is CinC's MF-012, DD Cavalier (Ca-class). The Cr-class had quad torpedo mounts instead of the quintuple mounts on the Ca-class (to offset heavier fire control) and different light and medium antiaircraft fittings. Otherwise, very similar.

OK, however there is one thing to note that after the war the Cr destroyers that ended up in Canada (HMCS Crusader and HMCS Crescent) received a Destoryer escort modification for ASW in the 1950s the bridge has been modified, half her guns where replaced with sonar, her superstructure was extended aft, and armed with Mk 10 Limbo mortars and Homing Torpedoes.

Sorry; I should have read the title of this thread. CinC's model represents the Ca-class as built and isn't at all suitable for the Canadian ASW conversions. I don't think conversion of the models is a realistic approach - there was too much alteration. I don't know of any models for HMCS Crescent or Crusader.

I will add votes to the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List for these ships.
