How about some armored trains in combat command packs for Poland, Germany and Russia.

Or how about any trains?

Trains, and train tracks/accessories, would be a lovely adder to the line. Might even make an interesting opportunity for cross-over customers, given GHQ's position in both micro-armor and N-gauge train accessories.

I've managed to collect both WW2 era and modern locomotive models in this scale. These are static models, which suits my purposes just fine. But track ... good track, is devilishly hard to find. So also are good train cars, a capability that GHQ could easily master.





At least one Japanese toy maker now makes working trainsets in 1/300 scale (ZZ gauge). But these are only of famous Japanese train lines, and are only sold in full sets as far as I have found (one full train + one oval of track). No individual train cars, no extra track, no other accessories.

Trains were a major feature in warfare during WW2, particularly on the Eastern Front and in North Africa. Not a major feature as combat units, although armored trains did occasionally participate in battles, but a major feature as objectives for campaigns and combat operations.

I may not want trains to fight with, but I'd sure like to have some trains to fight over.

While a few cars for "aptmosphere" would be nice....railheads and stockyards would make nice objectives.....and tracks, on elevated berms, would make great defensive lines or obstacles.

Definatly a Vote here to in Favor. There were several Famous ww2 Battles where Train tracks, burms or stations were present. Prockerovka, Senid station in North africa, Even in and around Caen in normandy. I would Love to see track and train sets to dress up my terrain with.

If GHQ made something so nice but at the same time so odd like the Karl mortar, for shure he can make something so cool and cute like train stuff. Track embarkments are a must in a battle. And a puffing loco parked in a station would be something very nice to watch at.

Ah, Sened Station! One of my favorites.

Entrenched Italian infantry defends the Arab quarter, while L6 light tanks negotiate a crossing of the tracks near the station itself (visible in the center). US Cav forces have already charged the sole emplaced Italian 47mm AT gun, and taken losses from the small arms fire.

The several battles at Station de Sened have been a pet topic of study for me for a couple of years. This battle was a re-fight of the second clash at Sened. If you have info on the fights there, and in particular if you have any maps or photos or diagrams of the area, please do share!

Armored trains are available from other manufacturers... Here is a picture of a WW2 era train that has been upgraded and was in use during the Balkan wars of the l990's.



There is too much "stuff" that needs to be produced to complete several WW2 lines which I would rather see GHQ concentrate on, especially since armored trains have been very well covered by another company. You can't just make one or two items for Armored trains. There are too many things (specific cars, engines, etc.) needed to make it worth while for them to go to all the trouble to make them...

I would vote against GHQ doing armored trains if it takes them away from the other items we need to complete all the open lines currently in existance... but that's just my opinion...

I've played a couple of armoured tain battles and they aren't particularly excitng. The train is restricted to its tracks so its not going to do moving. They don't have much better than light tank armor so they aren't going to take many hits.

They are nice looking but that's about it.

Good point. I would rather see someone produce 1/285th scale railroad track and embankments. Railroad lines themselves are more of an "objective" than the trains. I beleive something along these lines was mentioned earlier in this thread. If I did have a train in a battle it would be just for aesthetic value...like in an urban type scenario...

The H&R track, switches, etc. are the most to scale (European) offered that I have seen. The other product offered is often deformed so badly during production as to be unusable. The H&R track is at least cast straight and flat...
