Any gamers in Utah?
Looking for a group to game with in Utah. Have played 15mm napoleonic in the past. Even have a few regiments of Austrians...somewhere. I don't have any micro armor but more then willing to paint up a couple of companies of US or German. Drop me a PM or just respond on this thread.

Kennerator,
I like to think I'm a Utah wargamer (SLC to be more precise) but my two young boys are the focus of my life right now, so the gaming gear sits in storage for the forseeable future. I've got a huge collection of GHQ WWII armies and terrain waiting for me to scrape some free time together.
If you haven't found them already you may want to look up the Wasatch Front Historical Gamers Society. Their website is www.wfhgs.com. I haven't approached them but from the looks of the site, and they clearly are open to all types and genres of historical wargaming. if they are open to new members, it would be an awesome group to game with.

Re: Any gamers in Utah?
Hate to sound like a broken record on this (to those who have heard it before), and also hate to stick my nose in where it may not be welcome, but ...kennerator wrote:Looking for a group to game with ... Drop me a PM or email...SPAM-me-till-I-choke@hotmail.com.
It is really not a good idea to post your email address on an open forum.
In case you don't know, the bulk email houses have SPAMbots that cruise the web looking for any combination of characters that make a valid email address. They dump any they find into their email lists, and sell them to all comers.
If Google can find this place, so can Unwelcome_Emails_R_Us. I can buy any or all of some two hundred different lists of a million email addresses for about $10 each. How many messages to you want to receive from Nigeria "WIth good Respect and Faith dear"?
For every day you leave the address up here, you will probably receive a dozen SPAM messages per day for the rest of the life of that account. Leave it up for a week and you might be priviledged enough to receive a hundred SPAMs per day or more.
I've already had to close email accounts were I was receiving more than 300 SPAMs per day. My current email account has excellent SPAM filters, so I only receive about 50 or 60 per month in my "bulk email" folder, and maybe only 20 per month in my actual email inbox. But of course, I have NEVER posted my address in an open forum.
Might want to go back and edit that original post. PM is a very useful facility offered by our hosts here. Just use that.

Mk1 , thanks for the heads up. I will be a bit more careful in the future. So far I've been lucky. The amount of spam hasnt changed to much. Thanks again for the warning.
Mguss, Your killin me. All that stuff just sitting in storage...I do understand the your kids come first. If you ever manage to scrap together a few hours I would love to get a game together. I will even volunteer my wife for babysitting duties if that helps at all. Thanks a ton for the link, I will for sure have a look. K

Good to hear from you. Ive got about four platoons of german armor and an unpainted blister of infantry. I also have two platoons of US armor and and unpainted blister of US infantry. Ive been reading through the Mein Panzer rules and they look like they will play pretty well. Have not play them yet, still a bit new to this myself.
What days are good for you. I have a pretty strange schedule so any day of the week can work for me. Hopefully we can get together soon and push some lead around.
I started a forum, to hopefully try to get gamers in Utah together. Have a look. I'm the only member so don't expect alot of activity. Just got it up last night. This is the first forum that I have messed with, so I would love to hear your suggestion. www.utahwargamers.com

I have some mark 4 h's, stug 3 g's, panthers, some tiger A's and some Jagd panthers. I have a few t-34/85's, mostly 76mm shermans and some pershings. no infantry yet. I have the GHQ rules and I'm not too impressed. It sounds like Mein panzer is the better fit. Weekends are the best time for me. friday nights or saturdays.

Thank you sir, and thank you for also helping to let people about the forum. This is the first time I have ever tried anything like this, and I must say that Im pretty excited about the intrest. Matt from your club has helped out a bunch by getting the word out. When I get back in town im going to try to hit some of the local game shops to try to drum up some more intrest for the forum. I really want to see this do well. Hopefully I'll finally be able to find some people to game with

We, of the non-Utahpian ilk, are of course waiting anxiously to see pictures of your events!

Sherman 76s, T-34/85s, Panthers and Pz IVs, there's got to be an AAR waiting in there somewhere!
