New German Infantry

I have some immediate observations.
The Good
Finally, infantry that looks like a homogeneous unit. They look pretty good, but it will be tough to say until I see them in the flesh. Though they definately look more rugged than the #1 set.
The Bad
Still not enough poses. There should be enough to make a full squad without any duplication.
The Ugly
That paint job looks a little rushed. It certainly isn't up to the level that we normally see for new arrivals. It hardly helps the product.
Overall though, I'm really glad to see these guys. I think they are an improvment over the previous German Infantry, and I especially like the fact that they are all doing teh same thing, on this case advancing.

We are glad that our new German infantry has drawn enough interest to spark a new thread. With most things that we do there will always be some people who like them, and others who don't. These seem to be no different. As we have previously mentioned many times on this forum over the years (including a week, or so, ago), we have many different people who paint the items that you see on our website and in our catalog. Almost all of them are our customers. We feel that the paint job that the local fellow did on these was really good, and on par with the paint jobs on the rest of the infantry that we show on our website. We chose to go with this particular local guy on these for two reasons, (1) he does a good job, and (2) we knew that everyone would like to see a photo of the new German WWII ASAP. Fortunately for us he was able to paint them over a weekend so that we could have a photo up just a couple days after the Friday that we listed them on our website. We wanted to point all of this out again in an attempt to have everyone follow the same decorum that they do when looking at, and commenting on, things on the "Show us your stuff" thread, or any of the other threads that allow people to display the work that they have done. Every one of the people who paint display models for GHQ is a regular forum reader/poster.
Thanks,
GHQ

WoW!
This is a great addition to the German Infantry! I for one will be ordering some ASAP and hope that GHQ continues to update and add to the 6mm infantry line. As for the poses and the painting - I'm impressed and can't wait to see what else I can make the Soldat's do with the pliars and scalpel!
Looks like there are some new Officers and the LMG team looks sweet!
Great Job!

I like the new infantry, but I hope future sets will continue to have infantry in firing poses as in the older packs.

Oooo boy. Now I feel bad about critcizing the paint job.

I'm no expert, that's for sure. The paint job is good. I was thinking more along the lines of the kind of elite work we see from Ritter or binpicker.
Anyway, I'm glad the infantry is being expanded, and since I've been more vocal than most about it, I felt it was important to get discussion started.

We just want to make sure that this is a place where people (of all abilities) can post their work and not be scared that they will be ridiculed or bashed. Obviously some people are better painters than others, and the best of the best give everyone else something to aspire to. The fact that Troy Ritter (who is a very fine painter and has painted many models that you see on our website) has commented favorably on the paint job was much appreciated. There are several people who paint models that we use, and we would like to continue to show our appreciation to them for the fine work that they do. Please remember that whether the models that you are looking at were painted by a GHQ customer and posted himself on our forum, or if they are models that you see while shopping through our website, they are models that were painted by someone. Sometimes people post things and ask for constructive criticism, if they do that then please be constructive. If you don't like the paint job, you don't have to chime in with "Great job!", but it would be nice to keep the comments in line with those that you would like to hear if they were your own work.
Thank you,
GHQ
