Terrain Rules Question

Maybe this will be cleared up when I get the complete Micro Armor rules, but I'm an impatient soul. I have some woods that are 4x6' that could contain six stands (leaving room for the trees). I have no doubt the front row of tanks could shoot and be shot, but what about the tanks in back, that are behind two inches of woods? Are they blocked?
Also, what about building complexes? I have made a nice village and a manor farm from some of the excellent paper downloads online. I treat the "village" as area terrain and ignore the little buildings themselves. Is this right?
I have some bocage terrain that one, two or three stands can fit into. I treat it as Rough Terrain 3 -- sound about right? Does not block line of sight for tanks>
Do people usually take a hard approach to terrain or do the rules expect players to make the best sense out of their own table top?
I am really liking my tanks and have substantial reinforcements on the way. It is just so great to be able to set up a miniatures geme in the same space or less as a board game!
