I am planning on building a Diorama of a U.S. Army/Marine Fire Base under Attack by NVA forces. but I have little idea of the basic Layout plans for such a base. And I am hoping that the wonderful community here at GHQ can help me. I do understand that most Fire bases were probably built as needs necessitated. But I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Hi,

Vietnam isn't really my 'specialty' (and there are experts on the forum), but the Osprey book, "Vietnam Firebases 1965-73: American and Australian Forces" is decent and is only $12.71 at amazon http://www.amazon.com/Vietnam-Firebases ... 174&sr=8-1

Please post pictures when you're done.

These are great sources for wargaming Vietnam:

The last two are run by 15mm gamers, but all sites contain of tons of information. The links alone have more info than you will ever have time to look through.
