While browsing the Internet -- specifically, the English Russia web site -- I found some pictures of a military parade in Moscow (date unknown, but I'd guess fairly recently). It doesn't appear that too many people showed up to watch. Its funny to see people shopping in the background and barely bothering to turn around.

So much for the resurgence of Russian militancy.

Several things amazed me. The troops dont look all that enthused. The crowd didnt look all that enthused. And I hadnt seen their helmets recently. Look an awful lot like our kevlar stuff. Vehicle camo not all that different from our Woodland pattern, just a different shade here and there. Interesting. Nothing at all like the old May Day parade in Red Square.
