Historical Wargaming Tribute Video - Making History

Hi All,
I guess the GHQ video contest didn't materialize. I can certainly understand though, as making a video is a lot of work... something I now realize.
"Making History", a miniature wargaming tribute video is now available for your viewing pleasure on my website and on youtube. While it isn't perfect, I hope it captures the spirit of miniature wargaming and collecting and provides a little bit of fun while you watch it.
Making History
Feel free to share the video, as the original idea of the contest was to show others our hobby and maybe in some small way attract people to it.
I hope you like it.
Thanks,
Tanner

Hi Tanner
Excellent work my friend! That is a really neat presentation - a nice blend of actual historical footage with your excellent models and terrain. Very impressive. Hopefully we can meet up one of these days and have a game or just to chat. Have a great day!

Fantastic work Tanner!! Everything about it was really first rate- your modeling, the mixture of models and acutal footage, the cinematography, the editing, the soundtrack, and the male vs. female aspect may show that this hobby isn't just for the boys. You really should post your video on You Tube, The Miniatures Page, and some other bulletin boards/forums. You have done something to be proud of!
With all of the great work that people have shown on all of the various threads we knew that some people had a good video in them somewhere just waiting to come out. Unfortunately the video contest didn't materialize this time, but hopefully this will spark some others to put something together and we can float the idea again this fall. If we ever did get a collection of videos, it would be nice to add a tab to our website that shows off all of the fantastic video work on our website.
Thank you for taking the time to do this and for sharing all of your skills with the rest of us!

PS Tanner, can you please contact us? Thanks

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the kind words
I owe a lot of thanks to my brother-in-law, who did the filming and the editing; I wrote the story and provided the archive footage, props, etc.
I am featured in the video (yep that goofy guy is me), alongside my sister... I couldn't talk my wife into having a role. By the way, I've posted the video on The Miniatures Page, and youtube (search for "wargaming tribute") and hopefully it'll get passed around. I'll get it posted a few other places tonight.
GHQ, I think another video contest in the fall would be great... and I'd be happy to participate. I'll be sure to drop you a line.
thanks!

And the crowd goes wild!
Way to go, Tanner! First class production there. I just LOVE that openning sequence, looking down that road, with cuts of Tigers and KVs moving out.
I shall watch it again and again!

thanks Guys for the feedback, I'm really happy the video has been so well received
Hundeminen... there's an idea for a new GHQ release... a wild pack of roving anti-tank dogs

...you never know who they are gonna attack... (no offense intended to dog lovers)
thanks again!

I wnat to thank you for the video you made. I have it saved in my favorites. When some one asks me about war gamming, I show them your viedo. I just showed it again to a friend and it really helped him understand what its all about. And I think I gained a new player.
Thanks again,

And great timing to be reminded of this - a discussion on another group about historical gaming among mostly fantasy gamers, and while I try to discribe how great historicals are over fantasy, this shows it.
