and this issue of TN has a really interesting modern counter-insurgency scenario for use in a variety of settings. Now, it doesn't take Carniac to figure out where this is going.
Why is GHQ going to the trouble and expense of publishing such a great scenario suggestion when it doesn't produce the figures needed to play it?
I think you can do something in a Southeast Asian setting a la the Vietnam product line. But GHQ doesn't yet produce both the insurgent and the civilian figures (or civilian vehicles!) needed for anywhere else (eg Middle East, Afghanistan, Africa, etc.)So, kudos to GHQ for this edition of Tac News! It's nice to see something dealing with actual current and highly probable future conflicts!
But I'd REALLY like to see a complete range of figures for these situations in specific areas: insurgents, civilians, and civilian vehicles. We're getting by with the Afghan militia figures for now, but I'd like some Afghan civilian figures (even some Afghans live in small cities and dress in modern-ish dress) or maybe some Middle Eastern insurgents (modern dress of course!)
I'm a dedicated GHQ costomer because you have the best products, great service, and I think you'll be around for a long time. This issue of Tac News gives me hope that you're also starting to pay attention to current military affairs!!!
