A question of basing and WiP

First off a Happy New Year to you all. I haven't posted for a long while but have dipped in occasionally to see what' what and have been pleased to see the thriving forum with its many new members and ASTOUNDING pieces of work. To many to name in person so share the praise amongst yourselves.

Well, after a long lay off to knock down and then rebuild my house I finally have my modelling room back! :D YAY!

So I have been warming up on some Stugs. I have no use for these and they may go on a certain well known internet auction site when they are finished. Fear not - I don't consider these to be there yet. However, they will need basing. I don't actually game at all so I have no idea what the most useful way of doing this would be. The main reason for basing would be make shipping a bit easier and safer, but there is a bit of me that has to admit that I think basing is my favourite part of the whole excercise!

So any and all advice would be gratefully received.

Cheers

Matt

Having sold some painted AFVs myself I would advise against basing. Many gamers really prefer their vehicles unbased. For shipping it's hard to beat just rolling them up in toilet paper (the good two-ply stuff). Then use a good strong box.

Good to see Miffster back.
Personally I dont use bases for my armour.
I think It looks a load more realistic without and as long as you have protected your models with matt varnish you wont need to worry about gamers handling them with salty pretzel fingers!

Cheers Chris.
