Modern PanzerBlitz Variant

Okay. This is a shameless plug. A few years back, I started working on a modern variant (unofficial) for PanzerBlitz. Here's a pic.



It's completed, and if you are interested you can find it at my website. It's a $10 pdf download. It includes a 20-page variant rulebook, six sheets of new counters, three new geomorphic mapboards, and more.

Does anyone do PanzerBlitz using GHQ minis and Terrainmaker? Seems like a natural to me.

Were there that many battles between the US and Iraq that were worthy of PanzerBlitz treatment? Weren't these battles one-sided affairs?

I'd like to see an expansion like yours for Europe in the 70s and 80s.

Anyway, nice job. I'll probably end up buying a copy anyway.

It all depends on what you are looking for. The rules include victory conditions that reflect the imbalances of assymetrical warfare, where victory is determine as much by world opinion as success on the battlefield. American units can decimate battalions of T-72s, but lose a platoon or two of M-1s, or an Apache counter, and you could lose the scenario. Upcoming expansions will include SpecOps, Afghanistan, and perhaps hypotheticals in Iran and Georgia. So this expansion is just the first part of a larger examination of modern warfare, where it might occur and how the different weapon systems and diverse military paradigms might function.
