Help with WW2 US Combat Engineer Company

Post by piersyf »

Hi all. I will soon be adding an armoured engineer company to WW2 US armoured unit. On the TO&E it lists the company HQ as having a 'semi trailer, low bed, front loading, 20 ton' being towed by a 'truck, treadway, 6 ton 6x6 4DT' and carrying a bulldozer. I have been unable to find any pictures of this combination so have no idea what I'm trying to reproduce. The only clue I have had is that this equipment is covered in the US Army handbook on earthmoving.
Any of you guys know what this is supposed to look like? Or better still, what items on the catalogue would suffice to represent them?

Hope this helps.

Helps a lot, thanks! Interesting that I googled the treadway 6 ton as well but didn't get the first link. I had seen the second link but wasn't sure it was the right stuff. Seeing that reference pic in the first link put it in reference. At least the trailer is easy enough to scratch build as long as I can make the wheels, and I guess one of the 7 ton trucks would be a reasonable option.

Thanks again!
