Re: Consolidated Micronaut Wish List
Micronaut Wish List Summary
This posting separates the various eras, with the number of ships listed in each era based (approximately) on GHQ’s recent output of models. The sequence is:
• Post-Cold War: top 25
• Cold War: top 15
• WWII: top 25
• WWI: top 20
• Pre-Dreadnought and earlier steam: top 10
• Pre-steam: top 5
There may be more than the specified number of ships listed because of ties. The sequence within each era is based on number of “votes,” country, and name.
Because of the length of the total list (about 4275 different items), the posted summary includes only those items for which there are enough votes to meet the above criteria. This reduces the posted list to 115 items. For the current rate at which GHQ is producing new Micronauts, it would take more than eight years to produce just these models.
For those of you who do not see items for which you have voted, I continue to track all the votes. If an item gets additional votes to raise the total to the “top 100”, it will reappear on the posted summary. Feel free to inquire in the forum or by private message about any specific item(s) not appearing in the posted summary.
I will attempt to update this summary occasionally. As of 2023-09-25, the summary is:

Re: Consolidated Micronaut Wish List
I would love to see China destroyer Type 052DL, which is the newer lengthened verion of 052D, with a total of 4 meters extra to its hangar together with the helicopter deck at the stern of the ship. That converts to 2mm more in 1:2400 scale which is noticible. Also a major difference is the long-range alert radar in the middle of the hull. There are 12 ships of the class and more to come so there's potential for a bulk buy for collectors like me.
I would also suggest a new cast for the early two China Project 956E (ex- Sovremenny-class) after mid-life upgrade. The 2x4 3M80E Moskit anti-ship missiles are replaced by 2x4 YJ-12A supersonic missiles and the two launchers for 48 SA-N-12 SAMs replaced by 4 sets of 8-cell VLS. That will be a great set together with the two Taizhou Project 956EM. BTW, the 3D 'Top Steer' air search radar that GHQ provided on Project 956EM is quite outdated as it should be Type 382 (aka Top Plate) installed on all four Chinese Sovremenny-class.
Lately, there are more AOL micronauts from GHQ, I would love to see China Type 903 (2 in class) and Type 903A (7 in class) which are the workhorses in PLAN and can be seen in most naval exercises and eastern Africa anti-piracy missions. Type 901 is also a great companion for the carrier force with currently 2 and more planned.

How about the SMS submarine lift ship "Vulkan"? Very cool German ship from WWI. I'm guessing it will not break into the top 10 yet?

I agree; it is a 'cool' looking ship. Also, your evaluation of its place in the Wish List is accurate. With your addition, Vulkan now has two votes, placing it in a tie for 1594th place.

Re: Consolidated Micronaut Wish List
GHQ has now released a photo of USN101 CA36 Minneapolis, late-war. Although this is a welcome addition, I have a few reservations about it. To begin with, the term 'late-war' is a bit ambiguous. In this case, the model is a reasonable representation of the ship's appearance from 1943 through 1944. It is less accurate for the appearance in 1945.
For the 1943-44 appearance, compared to the early-war appearance: the reduced bridge structure is correctly shown, the 1.1" mounts have been replaced with quad 40mm Bofors and two quad 40mm Bofors mounts added to the hanger roof, and the searchlight tower between the funnels reduced. At this time, Minneapolis carried about 24 single 20mm cannon. GHQ's photo is not clear enough to show a match, but looks about right.
For the 1945 appearance, several changes are necessary: remove the rangefinder hoods from the #1 8" mount (not difficult). Remove the port catapult (not difficult). Add a twin 40mm mount on top of the #2 8" mount (easy if you have one). Finally, Minneapolis replaced all the 20mm mounts with nine twin 20mm mounts (this is probably beyond my modelling capabilities).
Oops, forgot some items: the forward funnel had a cap to prevent exhaust gases from being pulled into the bridge. Also, like most other US warships of this time, Minneapolis had numerous life rafts attached to the sides of the main armament turrets and other convenient locations. USN101 is lacking these features.

Going to ask for HMS Audacity.
Looks like the RN has several classes of escort carrier, but lacks the most famous one.

I added two votes for WWII-era UK monitor Roberts-class and one vote for WWII-era UK monitor Erebus-class (~1940 modifications). Roberts-class now has 8 votes in the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List, tied for 349th place. Erebus-class now has 11 votes, tied for 180th place.

Re: Consolidated Micronaut Wish List
Some models I would like to see and have:
WW2
HMS COURAGEOUS aircraft carrier
- stern was different from HMS GLORIOUS
- last of the pre-war carriers to be done
HMS INDOMITABLE aircraft carrier
- different from first three ships of class
HMS MALAYA battleship
- last of the QE class to be done
HMS DEVONSHIRE, SHROPSHIRE, ** CENSORED **
- unmodified London class
HMS/HMCS 'C' Class destroyers
- pre-war destroyers operated by RCN
- need some Canadian ships!
Modern
RFA TIDE Class tankers
- needed for UK carrier strike group
RFA FORT VICTORIA supply ship
- needed for UK carrier strike group
HMCS HALIFAX Class frigates
- operate with NATO and US groups
- need some modern Canadian ships!
Some more European ships would be nice too. The multi-national deployments of ships are quite interesting with European, Canadian, UK and American ships operating together.
