The new list of Micronauts is out, and there is lots of good stuff. However, not everything I want is available yet. Here are my votes for next year's Micronauts:

WORLD WAR I

1. U.S. BB Nevada: This class (2 ships) is needed to fill out the U.S.Navy battle line.

2. U.K. AC Black Prince (& Duke of Edinburgh) Two armored cruiser squadrons (8 ships) were at Jutland. They got into the thick of battle, and several were sunk. The two Warriors are already available, and the three Minotaurs are coming out in '10 - '11. the two Black Princes would be the 6th and 7th ships of the two squadrons.

3. U.K. CL Cambrian Class (8 in class, 5 at Jutland). this class has two smokestacks, so it'll be clearly different from the other GHQ WWI British light cruisers.

4. German DD type S13. This early class is typical of many TBDs/DDs at Jutland. It's also different than the DD classes already produced by GHQ.

WORLD WAR II

5. IJN CV Chitose (& Chiyoda). This class is high on the list. It would be a nice addition. There are also camouflage patterns, which model painters would love to paint.

6. KM Lutzow. The third panzerschiff. It should be popular.

7. RM Pola. A "command cruiser" variant of the Italian Zaras, and the only Italian cruiser (other than the two Etnas) not produced by GHQ, if I remember right. It's been a while since we had a new Italian ship.

8. Soviet type 7U DDs. Several saw service in WWII; this class would "fill out" the soviet fleet that actually saw service in the war, although there are still other ships that are not available at this time.

9. HMS CL Sheffield. This ship (which I've written about in another forum topic) would cover the first group of city class cruisers, to go with the three Manchesters that GHQ already produces. If I remember right, in the other topic I suggested the 1942 version of Sheffield, at which time most of the five "first group" ships were fairly similar in their armament.

10. BBs Bretagne &Lorraine } GHQs French fleet is sadly lacking in
11. CA Duquesne class (2 ships) } warships. These three classes would
12. CL Duguay-Trouin (3 ships } go a long way in filling it out.

Although I theoretically want everything, these are at the top of my list. I've been busy painting ships all year, but have lots more (mostly DDs and Italian) waiting for their turn. I suppose I really have enough for a while, but we collectors "never have enough!

Only about 665 sculpting days left until the 30th anniversary of the Falklands/Malvinas War. Another vote for HMS Fearless class LPD, Aircraft (A-4, Pucara, Mirage/Dagger, Super E etc.), Leander class and all the others not produced by GHQ.

I'd love to see more ships/ aircraft for the Falklands (or any modern navy).

For Argentina:
1. A pack of aircraft would support this campaign and the same pack could be used for scenarios around the world. I'd include the A-4, Pucara, Canberra, Mirage III/ Dagger, Super Etenard, P-2H and S-2.

2. General Belgrano (modernized USS Phoenix)

For the RN:
1. LSLs (Landing Ship, Logistics). There were 6 involved in the operation with one being sunk and 2 damaged. Also useful for other Cold War RN operations.

2. The Atlantic Conveyor/ Atlantic Causeway. This kit would provide two of the auxiliary carriers or a 'generic' container ship for other campaigns. It'd want it to come with configurations to support both ships in the Falklands (with Chinooks, etc) or with the option to model it as a RO-RO/ container ship.

3. Churchill-class subs. Two were present in the Falklands (one of which sunk the General Belgrano) and they served as pickets for in-bound Argentine aircraft throughout the operation.

This series could help GHQ gauge interest in modern naval warfare (now that daily headlines cover ongoing maritime operations around the world). I'd love to see the Argentine aircraft pack, the LSLs and the Atlantic Conveyor/ Atlantic Causeway/ 'generic' container ship packs released in 2011-2012. These 3 packs added to the existing line of UK modern ships could significantly increase the historical scenarios available.
