Bradley Stinger FIghting Vehicle

Post by WargameHub »

Hello, I'm planning to run a late 90s Europe what if game. My question is on the Bradley Stinger FIghting Vehicle and how that should be run. If I tweak it to 1:1 with the 20 second time it works fine but with the regulay GHQ Modern rules I'm struggling to put it into play correctly.

The way the BSFV team worked was if the call of "red air" went out the Stinger Team would bail out the back and take up firing postion. 20 seconds was more than enough time to be in firing postion. I was thinking about using it as an opportunity shot for AA and the M2A2 Bradley just fires like a Stinger team.

And for those that are interested, a BSFV platoon actually had 5 Bradleys and 5 Stinger teams.... just to mess with the US standard of 4 vehicles in a platoon.

Are you talking about A2/A3 Bradleys or A6 Linebackers?
Its a sniper rifle, not a "sniper"! You don't call an assault rifle an "assault"!

The M2A2 was the majority and a few were M3A2. They were converted into the Bradley Stinger Fighting Vehicle with a dismount Stinger team. Its the predecessor to the Linebacker.

Actually on a related note the Humvee Stinger vehicles which were just a Stinger team in the Humvee that bail out and grab the stingers out of the cases in the back.
