GHQ, what will TW12 and TW13 will be?
Hi GHQ,
Can you (at least generically) tell me what TW12 (Irregular Individual Infantry) and TW13 (Irregular Individual Heavy Weapons) will be? There have been several suggestions on this forum, and I'd like to know which we're getting.
Thanks,
Steve

Oh mannnn!!! Those are great links! I would love to see a "Phat Bammer Swagger" pose and if GHQ doesn't put at least one pose with a life jacket I am going to sell all my stuff and leave this scale...!
Well not really...but somebody has got to do poses like that in any scale; I would definitely buy them....

Those pics and vids are cool and would allow you to do the Mog.
But my vote is for something more like this:

http://www.rhodesia.jp/images/sas1.jpg
Or this with FN FAL rifles Maybe one sprue with M16's (for Vietnam LRRPS and modern SEALS)

An example of the LMG for the weapons pack.

These would be the natural enemies for the current Bush warriors. You could game any Aftican, South American, and most Southeast Asian conflicts.
Not that I'm a fast painter but I have already decided on 6 different uses for the current Bush Warriors I just need a set with western weapons. (1st priority Belgian weapons)
They could b e UN, South African, Contra, Banana Republic Govt troops, British and French comandos and Mercenaries, from the 60's all the way into the early 90's. Also this would add Austrailians to the Vietnam Mix.
I'd like armed civilians, but they are not the top Priority. US weaponry can be offered as a Vietnam LRRPS pack. If that pack is done right it would serve dosens of uses as well. (USMC Recon, SEALS, Special Forces, And Mercenaries. for battles virtualy any where like Panama, Grenada and Nicaragua. Also little known to the genereal public was the a possible Aftrican intervention by Marines.

I am not sure how the new irregular infantry are irregular. I was expecting an Iraqi style insurgent but these look like they could be from a regular army. The G3 rifle doesn't really work with irregulars either. Not sure what they were going for here, but like someone else said they'll be good stand ins for third world regulars and possible minor NATO armies...

There is really only one way to address this situation: you are correct, these are not irregular infantry. We made a mistake. Occasionally things slip through, and when you look back, you don't have an explanation for how things came to be and you just have to admit that you made a mistake. TW-12 and TW-13 are what we would call 3rd World Regulars that can be used to represent a huge number of different forces all over the world. We do feel that these are very important infantry that fill a niche, and they are something that we had planned to release in the near future.
Irregular infantry are what we had in mind when these packs were planned, and when we listed them in our catalog. Unfortunately some wires got crossed in the discussions with the designer who worked on these. Multiple third world infantry ranges were discussed, and the irregulars were supposed to come for the April 30th releases. These came instead. The people working in production either are not military people, or knew that the regulars were coming in the near future, and didn't mention anything. The person who did the painting painted what he got, etc. Regrettably it is too late for the irregulars until the August releases (when the Regulars were supposed to be released), but that is when they will be out. They will be sub-Saharan irregulars.
The listing in our upcoming catalog has already been changed to correct this error, and our website listing has been changed as well. As previously mentioned, the current TW-12 and TW-13 fill an essential niche. Many countries around the world from the Cold War era to the present wear US WWII style helmets and use a mixture of European/Russian weapons. That is the niche that we have filled with these figures.
We are sorry for the confusion.
Thank you for your support,
GHQ
