I'm at long last ending my collecting of micro armor....I have loved it for almost 20 years but changes in life/players/space are forcing me to sell it off sadly.

I will not advertise on GHQ site to sale my collection...... My real question is how does one ship these ??

My only thought is that I buy foam from a hobby store and sandwich them in between. Does anyone else have a cheap yet safe way of shipping over 3000 miniatures lol...

So ... as to the approach to shipping ... I would suggest you check out the boxes and foam available from a mailbox rental / shipping store rather than focussing on your local hobby shop. I think your best approach would be to choose a common-sized box (I'm thinking pizza-box sized) with layers of foam. Maybe 2 or 3 layers of foam-tanks-foam per box, giving you something like 100 - 150 tanks per box.

Sorry to hear you're leaving. Depending on how far you're shipping and how much at a time, using UPS flat rate boxes is a good idea, just sandwich them in foam and they should be fine.

I just finished selling off a bunch of surplus, and I used a couple of methods.

I had some old plastic snap boxed with foam from a company that sells similar products to GHQ. I also had the bunker boxes and some old miniature cases from another company. I used these to good effect - at least no complaints.

On stuff that was unpainted, I used the old tissue in a sandwich bag. I do not use this method on vehicles with guns/turrets at all. I usually try and get creative with what is around the house. Old Spokesman's, bubble wrap, foam peanuts. I just try and make a cushion around the actual vehicles, so the friendly and oh so careful mailman can drop kick the box and nothing will happen.

I also agree that the flat rates are a great value. You can fit quite a bit into one of the medium or large ones. Even the small ones can fit around 80-100 pieces if you pack carefully.

Rick, while I am sorry you too are getting out of microarmor, I can help you out. As a successful shipper of over 2000 miniatures to all corners of the world, I can tell you the best and cheapest method is to use the GHQ packaging and roll the minis in tissue. Tape over the top. Put into a cardboard box or padded envelope.

If you threw those out (what hobbiest would do THAT!!?? ) buy 5x9 padded bubble envelopes in bulk and use these to ship your minis in a sandwich of cardboard and packing tape. The tape keeps the minis in place; the cardboard helps to stabilize the package and the bubbles cushion the whole thing. You can put at least 30 or so vehicles in each envelope. Turning the minis upside down before taping will keep the paint safe.

Although, if you are selling off in bulk, this may not be your best bet.

with terrain..I have no idea...the fragile nature of it makes it hard to even consider shipping...I think this would self destruct in a shipping box

So sorry to hear you leaving the hobby. I just had a Duh moment and realized how big yoru collection actually is!

I hope your site stays up I have been a fan of it for several years. The hobby is loosing a great member.

The USPS has those flat rate boxes. Weight doesn't matter, just whatever you put in the box ships for one flat rate. You might look into that option.

As it has been stated before but I will miss you also on these forums as for you WWW will it be left up or yill you be taking it down?

Now for the hard part, I am not trying to sound like a vulture by any means but.... .......
when do you think you will be posting these up on e-bay or any other for-sale site, and are you going to sell this collection as one big group or alot of broken down items.
