This is mainly for you naval buffs out there. When you are painting your micronauts what process do you use to hold the ship while you paint?

I use hemostats and clip them to the under side where the mold lines are, now the only problem with that is the smaller ships dont have a mold line. and when trying to paint the bridge and smoke stacks can be a hassle. Especially if they are not on a sprew. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

ONe idea I came up with is to make a T handle to work with. I did this when I was painting 15mm infantry that were too big to mount on nails.

I used the large tounge depressors that you can get from the craft stores, then got a 1"x1" stock from Lowes and cut this into 4" lengths. That forms a handle that you can use to hold the figure while you paint. You can glue them with Elmers and they pop off with just a small bit of cleaning with an exacto knife.

You might be able to use tack putty inside the hull so you don't have any chance of having to repaint any surface on hte out side.

Hope this gives you a useful idea.

Thanks for the info guys. I was thinking of doing it thru the nail and wood block idea. What do you use to glue to to nails? Once again thanks again for the information.

just a small dollop of ol' Elmers... .. they pop right off when your done
