Combat Command Wishlist
I've always liked the idea of CC's to get new gamers into the hobby and to allow old school hobbyists to expand into new genre's. What CC's would you like to see. (I know this thread has been done before, but I think it's fallen onto page 50.

Let's see;
-'73 AIW CCs
-Modern British CC w/ Chieftains
-Modern French CC w/ AMX-30's
-Modern Soviet CC w/ T-55/62 (for early CW Soviet and Satellite States.)
-Late War German KG that makes more sense. Perhaps something with Tigers or Panthers, rather then Bisons.
-Early War French with a wider varity of tanks, instead of all Char-Bs.

Not that this a bad idea, but wouldn't it more-or-less turn the Battle Boxes into Combat Commands?BadKarma wrote:The Combat Commands are killer, but how about expanding the Battle Boxes a bit. Include some Infantry and APCs or ATs and Artillery. Maybe some Recon with the Tanks?

How about:
1 ) Tank Destroyer Company
- 12 x M3 75mm GMC Halftrack
- 8 x M3 White Scout Car
- 2 x M3 Halftrack with Tarpaulin, 1 x 1.5t Trailer
- 8 x Jeep (4 with trailers, 4 with MGs)
2 ) M4A1 Sherman Medium Tank Company
- 17 x M4A1 (early) Shermans
- 1 x M31 ARV
- 1 x 2 1/2t GM Truck
- 2 x Jeep
3 ) M3 Lee Medium Tank Company
(same as #2, but with M3s instead of M4A1s)
4 ) M3A1 Stuart Light Tank Company
(Same as #2, but with M3A1 Stuarts instead of mediums, one T30 75mm halftrack, and M3 halftrack instead of M31 ARV).
5 ) Armored Cav Combat Command
- 8 x M3 White Scout Car
- 12 x Jeep with MG
- 2 x T30 75mm HMC
- 2 x M3 Halftrack
- Half-pack seated US Armored Infantry (mostly MG gunners, few seated infantry)
- Half-pack US Individual Infantry (pack 1 or 2?)
Of course, it wouldn't do me any good, as I have already assembled all of these units. But it would be helpful for any others who want to get into the Torch or Tunisian campaigns.

I can see where you are coming from, and a good idea it is. However, from GHQ POV not sure how you would do it, and still have two viable Battle Groups with a decent price in one box.BadKarma wrote:Not if the box included both sides in the same box.

And you are right, the sticker shock would be up there, but seeing how another company can charge $200 plus for just one side of their army forces, it would still be less. But price is definitely a consideration, but might be eased a bit with a bulk pricing scale.
I should really take my meds before I try to think about these things.

True. But, It would still be more cost efficient to buy two, opposing, CCs (at $39.99 US) then to try and combine two BGs in a Battle box. I would think anyway. The Battle Boxes are a good augmentation purchase though.BadKarma wrote:...but seeing how another company can charge $200 plus for just one side of their army forces, it would still be less.

And I also like the Battle Boxes, but my idea was a line that combined 2 CC's for a price break like $74.99. It would be a great was for someone to get a jump start. Or maybe just offer a deal on CC's: buy 1@ $39.99, buy 2 @$35.00 each.Panzerleader71 wrote: True. Anyway, now that "the other company" is offering their own version of the bulk packs, it'll be interesting to see what happens.
