Hey all,
What color would be best for painting up US infantry for Vietnam?
Is it dark green, olive green or something along that line? (same for the helmet too )

Take a look at these pix, the color is all over the map, brown olive, medium green, faded olive, even a bluish tint on new USMC jungle fatiques. Of course light can play tricks on colors and of course once you add sweat, mud and blood...

I primed mine in the Krylon OD Green camo paint, then dry brushed with Field Gray. My old fatigues used to fade out to just about the same shade as a light Field Gray, and since we tend to lighten the color when working with smaller models, it just looks right to me.

Most of the uniforms I remember faded to a sage color as they were washed time and again. Most units (squad to platoon) would consist of a mix of a medium olive through sage and almost to white where the uniform was exposed to the intense sun of Vietnam's summers. Marine utilities started closer to sage and seemed to lightened from there. Will
