Hey all,

I'm working on some generic terrain boards for multipurpose battles...WW2, modern...and I am wanting to have a tile or two of bocage. For those of you that game in 6mm, how do you make your bocage?

Do you glue the clump foilage onto the work piece?

Here's a few pics of my older boards. I used small clumps of woodland scenics to create them. I glued them down with white glue.

To make a bocage that can be used where you need it on your game board, I started with a green or brown pipe cleaner that I got at a craft store. I cut down one side giving a flat area to rest on. Then cut to however long you want them to be, and add bends as you see fit. Cover in white glue and then cover with turf blend and coarse turf. Then add a few trees to the side of the bocage. This way you can lay out your bocage as you need them. I have allso used stone walls from other companies instead of the pipe cleaners. Just paint the stone walls an earth color. The pipe cleaners are far cheaper, you get about 25 12" cleaners for $2-$3.

One simple and effective bocage is to use colored foam from Woodland scenics. I use small random chunks glued down with PVA or hot glue. Its easy and fast and can be done on terrain boards and hexes alike. You can add different colored flocks for more realism.

Thanks for suggestions guys...the pipe cleaner idea sounds interesting...but I'm kind of more towards having more of a realistic look...much like what Ritter has posted.

Thanks again guys :D
