the war that never was?

Post by thekinginpink »

The micro armor WWII rule book mentions a book by the same author by the title "the war that never was". I have searched online and haven't found refrence to the book anywhere. Dos anyone know a place I could find it?

The reference to "The war that never was" in the WWII rule book is to a book in progress by the WWII rulebook's author John Fernandes. In his alternate history, Hitler dies in the 30s and thru a series of very possible events France becomes a fascist power.

I read much of the research and outline and had to often remind myself it was a work of fiction and not actual history. John was a very dear friend and often let me read his works in progress

The book will never be finished as he passed about a year ago. I would have very much enjoyed reading the final work.

:( To bad, that book sounded really well researched.

Daryl:

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.

But as to the un-finished book ... it sounds very interesting to me.* Could you share with us a little of what you know from the outline? I know some of the political history of France and several of the European military powers in that period, and also am intrigued by the wargaming potential of a rabid France (vs. a rabid Germany, as actually occured).

Thanks for any insights you can provide.

*No plagerism / idea-steeling in mind. I am but a humble amature historian of that period with an avid interest in discussing it.
