Looks fine to me. I'm not a big fan of 'equal' armies anyway, and yours seem to fit what might be available for either side at the level you suggest, so I'd say stick with it.
If it's a meeting engagement or a German assault I'd even go so far as to say that the US forces have the advantage, although I'm guessing it's a US assault. In that case, I'd hope the Germans don't have prepared defences, and that my FO's spot the Pak43's real quick or the game will be over real fast.

Yeah, jeeps would probably be better for the ALO and FO.
That sounds quite reasonable, a nice escalation. I guess your previous commander hadn't read the TD handbook. M18's make lousy StuG's. I guess the main issue for me is the Tigers... without them (or replace them with a Stab group of panthers... 2 more panthers and a small command/recon element) the game would really depend on luck and good planning... nobody really has an advantage. Tigers can change a battle real fast if they appear at the right place and right time.
Having said that, it is a great way to see how flexible the US players are... if they are able to yield ground the right way and sucker the Tigers into a position where they can be ambushed by the M18's (like is supposed to happen) then that would be a good thing!
BTW, the M18 platoon should also have 2 M20 scout cars... very useful flank guards with the .50cal and a bazooka each. It should also have a jeep where the platoon commander works... as a kind of roving OP so his TD's don't have to show themselves until necessary. One of the advantaged of doing a 1:1 vehicle representation according to TO&E is that you can fight the unit the way it is supposed to be fought.
Maybe take the 2 halftracks and bolster the TD's?

I was thinking of replacing the Tigers with Stug III's or JGPZ IV's since they are on the cookie sheet, along with a few JGPanthers, just for looks, misdirection and to add a little confusion if the Americans get a peek at the German Forces while I am grabbing a brew, or in the bathroom or something.
*heh* that's funny. If you're going to that length, I might suggest that 4 JpzIV's would be a good sub for 3 tigers, but if you think they are likely to peek, use 3 StuG's, have 2 Tigers in the box along with the JPanthers, and have 1 Tiger actually in the game. I'd make the Tiger immobile (mechanical breakdown) so basically a pillbox somewhere, but they don't need to know it can't move. It does change the tactical situation though, as it would put one more thing on the board for the German player to defend, but it would sure leave them guessing... will the rest of the Tiger platoon show?
