Modern Micro Armor, Sat. May 15, JAX, FL

Post by chrisswim »

A day of micro armor in Jacksonville, FL on Saturday, May 15 starting 8:30am going until. We have 12ft x 8ft table to use.

This is a warm up to Rapier 2010, for those that are competing there. It is also the regional qualifier to the National Micro Armor Championships. Bring your modern micro armor if you wish. Micro Armor is available to use if desire.

Mick said that he will bring his 500 M1A2/M1A1s to the game for a box battle. If any one would like to get in on that game, let me know. Bring your stuff, you can be on his side if you wish or you are welcome to be on mine. Not sure if this game will happen with other priorities to game.

Planning a unique micro armor type of game that is overlook but relavent to the international polictical climate today. A game in the Middle East with options of M1S, M1A2, Merkava IV, Challenger 2, and LeClerc MBTs.

The host is Rob Adams who is a second generation gamer. More info to follow.

"...500 M1A2/M1A1s ..."

Wow! That is a lot of Detroit steel (or should I say Minnasota lead  ) to have on a table at once.

Sounds like a good game.
The moral high ground: A good place to site your artillery.

Chris,
Over the years I've realized your great numbers in games. Out of curiosity what rules do you use?

sounds like...

Armageddon...
Why, in my day, we didn't have counters. We had to paint the unit values onto little rocks. maps?! Hah! We had no paper maps! We put our rocks in the dirt. It sucked when it rained, but we soldiered on!!! Don't get me started on dice...

Definitely interested. I won't be able to know for sure though until it gets closer. You mentioned desert themed? Let me know which side is short and I can bring some armor to shore up that side.

1. those 500 Abrams are Mick's, I have mine. Yeah, I have a few.
I was thinking of matching up with 350 LeClerc's{almost half of what French Army has fielded], and add in 200+ Leopard 2A6/A5 [GHQ, snipped off end of barrel] or 200+ Leopard 2A4.

I plan to bring my Desert camo and some Eurpean forces, Olive Drab [leave the 3-tone NATO scheme at home].

Zaevor2000, ... I like the "ARMORgeddon" maybe that should be some new rules set I need to write up.

JB - The rules I use are "Fire Power XXI" which is a set for 1 to 1 TO&E. Based upon the US Military Force 21 doctrine for 21st Century warfare, Utilizing C4ISR capabilities... C4ISR - Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance

Tourist, bring whatever you wish, hope you can make it. Fit you in for a few hours or all day. It would be a delight to have you and meet you since we have not been able to yet over the years.

Here is the game for Rapier 2010 in Jax FL June 4-5-6, 2010.
http://www.rapiercon.com/

"World War 3 Begins: June 6, 2012 with the Arab - Israeli conflict....

GM: Chris Stockton
Miniature, 1/285 Scale [1/300, 6mm]
Using the new Fire Power XXI Rules

Expect table size to be 6 X 30 feet.
Players: 8 or up to 10 +.

Saturday evening.

World War three begins just as Hollywood predicted. Actually, Arab terrorists set off several bombings through out the world, some with help of governments around the world. These governments did not know the scope of the attacks in major business centers. This set the stage for the final attack to eliminate Israel.

Many of these Arab countries have made significant upgrades to their equipement with M1A1/M1A2 Abrams tanks, that are faster than the Israeli Merkava. Does Israel have the capability to defend itself? Will American forces help Israel or side with oil producing Arab countries for access to oil? Will any European counties assist or become involved?

This attack begins on the anniversary of the D-Day Invasion! How tragic as that invasion was to end tryanny, this invasion initiates mayhem. Is there any hope for the world at this point, or is prayer the only option beside armed conflict?

Your job is to lead mechanized forces into battle and victory. Report at '20 Hundred [8:00 pm]. You have your orders."

Expect to field 40 Jordan M1 S. Israeli 50 Merkava IV, 60 Merkave 1 [GHQ, use as Merkava 3 w/ 120}, 20 Merkava 1 [cinc]. Eygpt: 60-80 M1A1, perhaps some old Russian tanks. Saudia Abrams, and some US. We will see if any European enter the fracus on this one.....

Is this still on? If so, which house? Not 100% I can make it but leaning towards trying to be there.
